The man, who was once a boy so familiar to her, turns around. He looks the same as he did as a child- buzzed hair and all.
"Eleven?" He asks in wonder.
"It's me," she whispers, reaching a hand out for him. "I came back for you."
Suddenly, Three's face hardens. "Don't lie! You aren't real!"
Eleven can feel her heart shatter as she watches the man in front of her pull at his hair from the root, fingers barely able to grab at the short strands.

The blond would be lying if he said it hadn't stung. Would probably admit to anyone who bothered to ask or care that his chest felt hollow with each whisper of the couple.
But, no one cared, no one ever did when it came to Billy. He couldn't blame them, he made caring a task.
It wasn't hard to see why Steve had chosen to get back with Nancy rather than pursue an actual relationship with the boy.
