The bartender passed Laurent's coffee. 'What's your name?' he asked, with all the assurance of a man who had never been turned down. A lot of guys liked to brag that they had pulled a stripper.
Laurent said, ‘I’m not going to fuck you. And I can pay for my coffee.’

“That’s all His Majesty’s work.” Vil glared at the ground. “He’s taxed the districts to hell and back without a care for the common people. But then, he makes sure we can't leave because we belong to him!” His breath grew shaky as his chest heaved. "There's nothing anyone can do!"
“Vil…” Rook shook his head, reaching for his friend. "Since when has my Roi du Poison become such a defeatist?"
Vil sighed, not meeting his friend's gaze. "His Majesty has a way of beating the fight out of you."
"He truly has exhausted you, hasn't he?"
As Vil nodded, Rook's gaze grew serious. "Then I will save you from his tyranny!"
