    Summary

A series of R/S AUs set in the 20 century, during the successive fall of the British Empire. Each story stands alone, though there are threads of connective tissue which hold them together---queerness, art, symmetry, mathematics, tradition, radicalism---and certain locales and themes seem to recur, even without my knowing so, like echoes of leitmotifs woven through a century.

One lens to look through the series is the progressive spinning out of Remus's station away from the center of power, into increasingly marginalized places where perhaps the iron grip of the failing Empire is more keenly felt. (Like Black Adder, in a way, if you don't think too hard!)

Though these stories were written at different times, and span different stages of even my own personal life, I decided to collect them together in recognition of their common theme, and as homage and mirror to fluorescentgrey's Empire Building series.

    Summary

Empire Building is a series of Sirius/Remus historical AUs taking place at defining moments in the canon of American history, culture, and mythology. The stories are not necessarily connected and can be read in any order. To that end, they are all fully complete in themselves, though the series is ongoing indefinitely.

Crowley is, apparently, being recalled for good. Aziraphale doesn't like what that does for the Arrangement.

    Summary

this countryside's burnin' with wolfmen fairies dressed in drag for homicide / they hit and run, plead sanctuary, 'neath the holy stone they hide / they're breakin' beams and crosses with a spastic's reelin' perfection / nuns run bald through Vatican halls pregnant, pleadin' immaculate conception / and everybody's wrecked on Main Street from drinking unholy blood / sticker smiles sweet as gunner breathes deep, his ankles caked in mud.
