this is my first work! the other dude who works on this universe is tarnishedmercury go read his stuff! his characters are nicolò and kukrit.
the 'spanish inquisition' cartel runs on two business fronts, transporting weapons across the class divided areas and hiring out mercenaries to those who can afford to want someone gone without question.
nicolò ricci and kukrit suzuki, the cartels owners and partners in crime, finally have a moment to themselves.

Nico had to skitter to a stop quickly, nearly falling into the water at the end of the road. He looked at it for a moment. ‘Canal,’ he thought. ‘It’s a canal.’
He looked up and down the canal, studying the bridges arched across it and the gondolas tied to the sides. ‘I’m in Venice,’ he realized, a sharp pain in his chest.
To his right, a cathedral stood tall. Without really thinking about it, he walked over to it, stopping in front of the large, ornate wooden doors, hand hovering over them. The wood felt almost soft beneath his fingers, so worn it bent to the will of his fingertips. He pushed the door open, stepping in.

“I’m kidding,” said Marty.
