    Summary

Aira couldn't look at the space girl.

A traitor like herself didn't deserve the decency to even be acknowledged. She dug her chipped nails into her arms, sat on the ground of the moving house of the Ayase residence. Things were over now. It didn't matter who was right or wrong. All that did matter was the choices that were made, especially ones that went against her team.

Then again, Momo Ayase had assured her that everything was a misunderstanding. That she'd been running from those space globalists for a long time, and that they'd tried to kill Vamola for interfering with their plans.

    Bookmarker's Notes

"We kicked you out, thought the worst of you… and yet you still came back." She stared at the bubbles. "Aren't you… mad?"

At first, she didn't reply, simply starting to thread through the strands of her hair once again. Clearly, she had the upper hand for a change, and maybe this was an issue that Aira would have to press her for later. With a huff, she shut her eyes, and let the cascade of water clean her hair. Finally, she spoke up.

"Not mad at you. Never at you." Vamola stated firmly. "I was… upset. Upset I could not communicate right. Upset they hurt everyone I love."

"You're allowed to feel angry, ya know. Take it from an expert." Aira smiled sadly. Even if it was Ayase's fault, a lot of the time, she let her anger guide her towards the path of righteousness. No matter how misguided it seemed, at times, either.

"I was angry! I was angry at The Kur." She dropped her hands onto the porcelain of the tub. "Angry that they took more away from me. That I let them again. I didn't want that, so that's why I came back, even if you didn't want me."

    Summary

It’s the burden of a popular girl to never show weakness, or was that being a leader. The two attributes really bolster each other don’t you think? When the person who you changed the trajectory of your life for suddenly doesn’t know your name, that doesn’t change the obligation to make sure she’s ok or the tendency for mutual loathing. Familiar places, familiar roles; What’s left when found family is forgotten?

    Bookmarker's Notes

So complex she was, stringing melodies far beyond pain a child should muster so soon in life familiar with loss. The way even now she agonized over her failure of becoming someone at. What she’s done, how she loved, when she died. Not a thing her mother would have thought right, a sacrifice and pained relationship absolutely one sided as usual. She paid for the reverence through service, music she played as the green tea smouldered and tears streamed down her cheeks. Its scent screams, overpowered. The burn still lingering on her tongue.

Aira already knew how to fill every hole left without a parent. Now she was avoided, like a conversation of death. . That hot bitterness filling the empty down in her gut. The tea is unmade downstairs. Without a mother, without time being a daughter, squandered time only now given another chance.

She was doing it for attention.

Both of them laid there in the blissful quiet. Soft breaths were the only sounds in the air now. It wasn't unusual for them to bask in the afterglow. It was one of the rare moments they shared together in complete silence. Fingers continued to mutually glide over scars. Their minds both lingered in the same place. Neither made the first move, not yet anyways. They wanted to explore every groove. Every notch and knick in their skin. Somehow, they knew what weighed on the other.

As per their usual routine, they savored the relative silence that followed. Hands idly wandered along hot skin. Their breathing practically falling into sync with the other. The hum of the outside world began to invade their bubble once more. They've fallen back into reality comfortably with their beloveds. The world felt anew. It felt kinder. Hopeful.
