Leslie took a deep breath. “When Tim came in a few days ago, I got a sample of one of his enlarged lymph nodes for a biopsy. I sent the sample over to a pathologist at Gotham Central, and they called this morning. They found Reed-Sternberg cells in the sample, which are indicative of classical Hodgkin lymphoma.”
Tim’s walls of denial came crashing down. He wasn’t fine. Lymphoma meant cancer. He had cancer.
Or Tim has fought a lot of battles in his life, but this may be his toughest one yet.

The Drakes, the boy's parents, hung up on both the ransom demand and the police.
The boy, precocious and perhaps a bit unhinged, gets himself out and blames his solution on Batman.
