This drabble is an ode to Kaiju No.8 B-Side, and the fact that not knowing about it often leads to a bit of a mischaracterisation of Narumi: the slacker prodigy persona is something of an act! Seriously, go read B-Side! It’s awesome! Narumi is amazing in it!

It’s half past two in the morning.
Narumi puts the barbell back on the rack and chugs down what’s left in his water bottle. Sweat is dripping from his brow as he wipes his mouth with the back of his wrist. His hands shake a little from exertion, which is always a good sign.
The gym is deafeningly quiet when he drops to the ground to do a round of post-workout stretches. Everyone except for on-duty guards is dead asleep, which suits Narumi just fine; there’s no risk he’s gonna get exposed during his illicit late-night affairs.
He stretches slowly and methodically, paying equal attention to each muscle group. He can’t risk an avoidable injury, and he went hard tonight.
He always goes hard.

A picture of them goes viral on Twitter.
At first glance the photo is nothing worth flagellating over. If it was taken ten seconds earlier it would’ve featured a pretty steamy kiss, but as things are it’s just a picture of Hoshina, his back to the camera, carefully draping his coat over Narumi’s shoulders.
That’s not the problem. The problem is Narumi’s face: completely, utterly, 100% whipped. Hopelessly besotted. Genuinely embarrassing to look at.
The PR department is a little irked. Narumi is a little irked too, albeit for very different reasons.

A year after Vecna rips the town in half, El comes to them with a theory.
That theory doesn't send Steve and Nancy down into the gate—no, that was already a part of the plan. But it does make them think there might be more to Vecna and the Upside Down world he made.
Especially when the plan hits a snag, Steve falls through the portal, and ends up in July of 1985 in the path of Billy Hargrove's camaro.
And that's only the beginning.

They’re all waiting with baited breath for him to continue. When he doesn’t, Steve prompts, “Which is?”
“Real simple, my guy. Supergirl is saying he’s bridging the gap when he invades our mind spheres. Comprendo? He’s sharing bandwidth. Guy’s mooching our cable ‘cus he’s got shitty dish.”
