In his final year of university, there are probably a number of things Phainon should be worried about. His internship, for one. Getting a job, for another. But right now, he thinks there are more pressing things to fret over. Such as–
“Why are our walls blue?” Mydei frowns.
Phainon pauses. “I read somewhere that blue’s an auspicious colour," he says, "and look- I even duct-taped the bottoms so the trims stay white. Isn’t it nice?”
And at that, Mydei stares. Stares a bit harder. Then, does a weird thing with his eyes that means he’s both confused and deeply amused.
"Phainon, didn’t our landlord say we’re not allowed to paint?”
In which Phainon wrangles with Swedish instruction manuals, learns to install an oven, and eventually, builds a life.
