And if they remembered Anthony’s self-harming habits at all, they would probably only remember a stray cut or two on his upper arms from years ago. And he doubts they would have found them remarkable now or all those years ago, because they were the same shallow wounds most of them harbored as some sort of fucked up rite of passage; proof that they were in fact survivors of the early 2000’s punk scene and not the posers they had so loved to make fun of for the early years of their friendships. They had all dabbled with cutting back then, it was just what you did if you were depressed and drugged up and sort of good at singing or playing an instrument on the east coast with nothing more than hopes and dreams and some shitty basement to play shows in and smoke bad pot and pretend you were cooler than you were. Pretend you never cried.
