Summary:
Lucifer stumbles upon (human) Alastor in the bayou and decides to have some fun. What should have been a non-recurring event quickly turns into regular encounters between the two of them as unexpected feelings start to bloom. Both of them having quite different approach to relationships, they are finding their ways and means to fulfill their love, manage the emotions that come with attachments and satisfy their desires. Heaven however, will not approve of their love and both of them still have deep wounds of their past. How far will they be willing to go out of love?Or: some plot, some smut and a ton of domestic and romantic fluff.

“You’re not interrupting,” Lucifer insisted. This time he intentionally tapped into his Alpha Voice. “Relax.”
It took a moment, but the lingering tension melted from Alastor’s frame and he settled more comfortably in his chair, much to the delight of Lucifer’s dragon.
A Beta shouldn’t act like this. Shouldn’t be influenced by Alpha Voice. However, the alternative was equally unlikely. An unmated Omega of childbearing years working as a university professor, especially somewhere as prestigious as Pentagram University.
And yet…

Alastor, an Omega posing as a Beta, offers Charlie Morningstar a ride after her car breaks down. Trying to head off any accusations of impropriety as her professor, he introduces himself to her father upon arrival.
Lucifer, an Alpha and a dragon, takes an immediate and inexplicable interest in him. When Alastor’s heat suppressants suddenly fail, he offers his help.
Alastor’s biggest concern after their tryst is that his secret will get out and his career will be over. Until he develops a soul mark, that is. And until Omegas start going missing.

“Does Angel Dust tend to nest in his suite?” Alastor asked without preamble.
“Why’re you askin’ me?” Husk asked gruffly, briefly trying to feign ignorance. A single raised brow from Alastor was all it took to squash that recalcitrance out of him, his shoulders and wings dropping. “Yeah, yeah – fine. But why’re you askin’ me now? It ain’t like Angel’s gonna steal his own shit and pretend like it weren’t him. Besides, he ain’t anywhere close to bein’ in heat. It’s not him, boss.”

Items have been going missing around the hotel. Nothing of any value or consequence - just people's personal effects. Regardless of their importance, Alastor cannot simply stand by and let somebody rob folks in his territory, right under his nose.
He sets out to catch the thief - and picks up a less than useful helper along the way in the form of one miniature monarch - but comes up empty handed. Empty handed, that is, until later that evening.
With his past racing to catch up to him things and quickly spiraling out of his control, he might find that less than useful helper has a use after all.

Summary
Alastor closes his eyes as the fight drains from his body. Lucifer knows. He’s certain of it, just as he is certain that the life he has known up to this moment is now over. He’ll live out the rest of his eternity on his back, legs spread for anyone with a few coins in their pocket. He almost laughs at the irony, that he should be a means for sinners to slake their hunger for a pound of flesh, in a manner of speaking.
“Alastor.”
He opens his eyes. Lucifer’s expression is inscrutable, but the air around him feels charged with energy like the moments before a storm.
“I need you to tell me what’s going on. Right now.”
Alastor forces himself to be calm. He will face this with dignity. “I believe I am going into heat, your Majesty.”

In a Hell tightly controlled by a caste system, a misbegotten good deed threatens to expose Alastor's most closely guarded secret. He is certain that the life he has known is over once Lucifer discovers the truth, and he is right—only not in the way he expects.
