Summary
“Your eyes… they’re… wow.”
Normally, Eddie is pretty good at reading Buck, being able to have a full conversation with him with just a few looks. He can tell Buck is surprised to see him, and he should be. Eddie’s never worn makeup around Buck before, and he hadn’t sent him any of the photos that he’d taken with Mara, Jee, and Nash earlier, so he shouldn’t have known that Eddie would come home like this. But, maybe the little bit of anxiety swimming in his gut is clouding his best-friend-telepathy, because he’s not sure how to interpret Buck’s wide eyes and parted lips.
“Is that a good ‘wow’ or a bad ‘wow’? Eddie asks, nervously shifting on his feet. His hands find their way into their pockets, subconsciously hiding his painted nails. He can feel his fingers clasp around the mascara tube he’s shoved in there, and grips onto it tightly as he waits for Buck’s answer.
“G-good, ‘wow’. Your eyes… they look beautiful, Eds.” He replies, voice a little breathy.

While babysitting the girls, Eddie gets a little princess makeover, and ends up finding his Prince Charming.

Summary
He’s rummaging around the room, trying to locate his room key so he won’t lock himself out while Buck is in the shower and he can run down the lobby for some last minute shopping, when Buck steps out of the bathroom, hair dripping onto his shoulders and a towel low on his hips.
He can’t help the swoop of his stomach and the saliva that starts pooling in his mouth as he watches the water droplets trail down Buck’s chest and over his abs. He’s so tempted to drop everything he is doing just to fall to his knees and lick up each one, before tugging off Buck’s towel and letting Buck fuck every ounce of panic out of his body with each hit of his cockhead against the back of Eddie’s throat.
“You okay, baby?” Buck asks with a smirk, causing the head coach to stop openly gawking and meet his eyes.
“I am internally debating if it’s worth going to dinner with my voice raspy as hell if it means you’ll fuck my mouth right now.”
OR
The Saturday before the AFC Championship game in Houston, Eddie and Buck have dinner with the Diaz parents. It goes about as well as you'd expect, but at least Buck is there to have Eddie's back.

Summary
It’s the middle of the night. Buck isn’t on shift. He’s supposed to be sleeping right now. But, instead, he’s sitting on the bathroom floor with Eddie at who knows what hour it actually is. He’s here. “Buck?” Eddie chokes on another sob. “What are y-y-you doing here?”
“Chimney called me,” Buck says softly, reaching up to cup Eddie’s cheek in his palm. He feels the gentle swipe of Buck’s thumb over his cheekbone, most likely wiping away one of Eddie’s many stray tears. He shivers at the soft touch, even as he leans into Buck’s warm hand. “He said you needed me, so here I am.”

After two months of holding himself together, when Eddie is unable to save a teenage boy on a late-night call, he finally breaks down in the bathroom at the firehouse. Immediately knowing what he needs, Chimney and Hen make a phone call to the one person they know will be able to get through to Eddie: Buck.

Summary
“Hey Chris! I brought you guys some-” The words die in Buck’s throat as he takes in the scene before him. Chris and Aiden are sitting on Chris’s bed, backs up against the headboard, tangled closely together. One of Chris’s legs is draped over Aiden’s lap, as his best friend’s palm holds it in place on his thigh. If they were any closer, he’s pretty sure Chris would be completely in the other boy’s lap. But, it doesn’t seem to matter that they aren’t, because Eddie’s fourteen-year-old has his fist buried in Aiden’s light blue t-shirt, tugging him closer as they kiss. Buck would say making out, but it’s much tamer than that. No tongues, just gentle presses of lips, between giggles.
At least, that’s what they were doing until Buck drops the entire bowl of popcorn on the floor, alerting Chris to Buck’s intrusion. His smile falls as he squeezes his eyes shut and mutters a quick, “shit,” that Buck doesn’t even have time or the brain power to punish him for, before he groans, “Hey, Buck.”

When Buck walks in on Chris kissing his best friend, Aiden, Buck and Chris settle in for an overdue conversation about love, family, and being brave.

Summary
Of all the things Eddie had ever expected Buck to ask him about, he absolutely hadn’t thought it would be his fake dating services.
“I... Yeah, I do. I do that. Why?”
“Well, um, I was wondering... And I know this sounds really weird, especially since I don’t think I’ve ever really talked to you before, which I’m sorry about, by the way, because I'm sure you’re a really cool guy, and I know I’ve seen you at some parties before, and we’ve been in this class together all semester, but—”
Finally, Eddie manages to pull himself together enough to hold up a hand to stop Buck’s rambling, and the boy immediately snaps his mouth shut, blue eyes wide and a little panicked.
“Buck, what exactly do you want?” he asks, brow furrowed with confusion, and Buck’s nervous shuffling increases tenfold, his smile completely gone now.
“Right. Um. I... I was wondering if maybe you’d be willing to, um... to fake date me.”

"Eddie?" Shannon picks up on the fourth ring. "Everything okay?"
"I kissed a man," he says.
The silence on the other end stretches for nine thousand years. Eddie can hear Shannon breathing. He can hear his own heartbeat slamming against his ribs. He stares at the apartment building through his windshield, at the lit window on the fourth floor that might belong to E. Buckley, and waits for his ex-wife to say literally anything at all.
"You what?"
"I kissed a man, Shannon. Just now. I was delivering food and he opened the door and I just— I kissed him. On the mouth. And I don't know why."
Another silence. Then a sound Eddie recognizes with dawning horror as Shannon trying very, very hard to suppress a laugh.
"Shannon."
"I'm processing."
"You're laughing."
"I'm processing." She fails spectacularly. "I'm sorry, I just— you kissed a man? Edmundo Diaz? The same Edmundo Diaz who wouldn't watch Brokeback Mountain with me because it made him 'uncomfortable'?"
"It did make me uncomfortable!"
