Anya looks at him like he’s the stupidest person she’s met in the last century. “What are you doing with Buffy?”
Spike takes another drag from the cigarette as he considers. He and Buffy have been living together for two weeks now, long enough that it all almost feels routine. They patrol together and split the cost of meals at 24 hour diners. They shag, obviously. They tell each other I love you, and it still feels miraculous every single time. They remind each other to do things like eat and sleep and charge their phones and pick towels up off the floor. A couple days ago they went to the laundromat and just chatted about their opinions on various reality television shows until the clothes were done. But they haven’t discussed what to call any of that; it just is. He finally lands on: “I’m doing a lot of things with Buffy.”
Anya does not look satisfied with this answer.

Summary
Half the slayers Ava knew said Buffy was really nice, if a bit detached. The other half were terrified of her. At fifteen, Ava already had a major crush on Angel, so had done her best to simply avoid Perfect Tiny Buffy Summers while she was in town. She only committed harder to the avoiding once Ava and Angel became . . . whatever they are.
'Whatever we were,' Ava corrects herself. 'Past tense.'
And now here she is, the summer after sophomore year, sitting down across from Buffy Summers at the greasy little restaurant by the mall.

Angel dated another sixteen year old slayer, and it went almost as badly as it did the first time. A relationship(s) post-mortem, with burgers.

The profile picture showed a slim but muscled person with bright blue eyes, prominent cheekbones, bleached hair, and a face that Buffy could only describe as pretty . . . Not attractive in an especially feminine or masculine way, just . . . pretty. A type of pretty that Buffy’d spent years wanting from afar. A type of pretty that reminded her why she’d bothered to tell people about the whole bisexuality thing in the first place.
