Summary
"So, Zoro, we have to kiss because of the mystery plant," Luffy states firmly, arms crossed over his chest.
"No we don't," Zoro counters. Seriously, what has gotten into his crewmates? He sleeps in a little once, and they all lose their minds.
"Why not?" Luffy asks, a slight pout to his lips and a hint of something in his eyes.
(Or, what snowballs on the Sunny with just a little mistletoe.)

Summary
Captain Jack Sparrow's compass points towards what its owner desires most in the world.
The compass goes a little haywire before pointing right in front of him.
"Is it pointing to where Hawk Eyes is?" Luffy asks with excitement.
Zoro stares at the needle, and when Luffy crosses their small circle to stand next to him and take a look, the needle follows his movement. Zoro clamps the damned thing shut. "Shit's broken," he mutters before throwing it at Usopp, who fumbles to catch it.

Summary
Sometimes, Law reminds him of Robin. The way she had, at the start, picked up on so many details about the crew, trying to grasp who they were.
But then again, Zoro thinks as Law opens his mouth to speak, Robin knows when to mind her own business.
"You know, you look like you're in pain sometimes."
(In which Law is too observant and Zoro needs to get some sleep.)

Summary
"No, you do it like this," Luffy snaps, eyes flaring red. His haki ripples in the air, except that now that it's aimed at him it's like a storm front, coming down on him so heavily that Zoro loses the air from his lungs and the earth tilts because Luffy's telling him to get down-
(There's Conqueror's haki and then there's this, and Zoro still has to figure out what both of those things mean.)

Summary
Zoro sends a flying slash that cuts off the heads of three sea kings in one shot. Luffy cheers because his swordsman is so cool and before he knows it, he's making heart eyes at him. He quickly slaps his hands over his cheeks and shakes his head roughly, making the hearts disappear.
(Luffy was never good at lying or keeping a secret and his new powers certainly aren't helping.)

Summary
"Don't you have a special someone?" The woman leans in conspiratorially, batting her lashes behind her round spectacles.
"Special?" Zoro echoes, frowning.
"Someone you would do anything for," she explains wistfully, clasping her hands together. That catches his attention.
"Maybe," he mutters, rubbing his cheek and thinking of red vests and scratchy hat brims.
(Or, Zoro gets talked into buying roses for the Captain.)

Summary
There's a soft glow to his skin, as if he has a lantern or his own little sun inside of him. He floats just slightly above the ground, like magical objects in children's books, and Zoro feels strange.
There's something about his face, too–
"Why," he says.
(Zoro never believed in any god; of course his captain had to go and become one.)

Summary
Luffy blinks at him before bursting into a fit of giggles, his laugh tinkling like water dripping into a cave pond. "That was easy," he says lightly. "I didn't even have to sing."
It's Zoro's turn to blink. "What?" he mutters, confused.
(Zoro will always dive after his captain, especially when there are things lurking beneath the surface.)

Summary
A kind of gravity, pulling him in like the high tide; he finds his eyes drifting to him, to his strong back, wide shoulders, sharp profile–
So Luffy pulls, too; tugs at his arms and hangs from his shoulders and always holds on a few seconds too long, fingers skimming along his sun-kissed skin, and Zoro grumbles and acts annoyed but never pushes him away.
(Sometimes, he sees a blush creeping up his cheeks if he stares long enough, and he wonders–)

Summary
"Zoro," Luffy whines into his ear. "This is a banquet—no fighting."
Never mind that Zoro hasn’t initiated contact like this perhaps ever and Luffy really wants to hold him a bit longer.
(In which the absinthe hits Zoro a little too hard and Luffy doesn't mind.)

Summary
"Sheesh, you're so obse-" Perona trails off, eyes widening as she watches Zoro stare out the window, a faraway look on his face. "Oh," she breathes, realising, "You're in love with him."
(Zoro would like to say he denied the words, that's stupid, he's just my captain, he could have said, but no, he just sat there frozen, the air punched out of him, watching the water droplets hit the window.)

Summary
It's as if the deck was constantly tilted, his steps unsteady. Luffy leans on the railing and looks down. The water swirls below, dark and cold. If he fell now, Zoro wouldn't jump after him, grab him by the waist and drag him back to the deck, scold him with a worried look on his face. Zoro wouldn't save him. Because Zoro's not here.
(The one thing Luffy had hoped would never happen, happens.)

Summary

Summary
“You can just kiss me.”
The wind blows. Zoro should probably be cold.
“Or are you too much of a coward for that, too?”
Luffy's face is teasing, teeth bared in a grin and ah- well, Zoro couldn’t really let that slide.

Summary
“Oh, you’re married?” Robin asks casually, as if that wouldn't create havoc.
Usopp spits out his drink, Luffy makes a sound that sounds like ‘gah!’ and Sanji curses as he almost cuts his fingers.
(In which Law messes up, Zoro ends up where he’s not supposed to be and the Strawhats get answers to questions they didn’t ask.)

And Zoro wants to fall to his knees before him, tell him I know, I’ve believed in you since day one, and even Kaido looks like he might believe it a little.

Summary
He catches Zoro looking at him, in that way he sometimes does, and Luffy’s body moves on its own.
In retrospect, maybe it wasn’t the best of times.(A soulmate au where Luffy and Zoro are just themselves and the rest of the crew try to understand.)
