This is a story of two boys from Brooklyn, one war, three falls (from a train, in a plane, from a helicarrier), and something that tastes like redemption but could just be love.
(It's a love story and a war story, and maybe those are the same thing, but first and foremost it is a tragedy with a chance of a happy ending.)

She gauges the collective mood of their group by the amount of ice cream in the freezer.
High ice cream levels generally coincide with high spirits.
Low ice cream levels generally coincide with low spirits.
It isn’t rocket science.
Anyway, ice cream levels are fairly high right now, but that’s to be expected. It’s still early in the semester, and things haven’t fully picked up yet.
Which is why she’s so surprised when she goes out to the vegetable greenhouse to make sure the watering system is working and sees Gavroche sitting amidst the tomato vines, head bowed and arms wrapped around knees.

She is going mad, she is certain of it, because she hears Courfeyrac’s clear voice calling to her and feels Joly’s hand on the small of her back and when she closes her eyes she thinks she can see Bahorel’s rakish grin in front of her and yes, she must be going mad.
She finds herself standing on the very stones that they must have died upon, all nine of her boys, because they were all hers, to a certain extent.
She carefully sits down, making sure to stay out of the way of any passers-by, and she isn’t prone to hysterics, but this one time she allows herself to bury her head in her hands and cry.

Summary
Series of little one-shots and ficlets about the Avengers. There will be very little plot in these stories.
These have become rather Darcy-centric, because Darcy is a force to be reckoned with.
The title of the series comes from Rob Thomas' song "Little Wonders," which features a chorus that says "Our lives are made/In these small hours/These little wonders/These twists and turns of fate /Time falls away,/But these small hours/These small hours/Still remain."
