Graves exhaled, exasperated. “A what? Is this a rescue or are you a hostage?”

Unconventional ABO worldbuilding and Newt is still an animal behavior nerd, yesssssss. The slow burn is satisfying and believable and this is enjoyable to read! Newt also gets to interact with an unexpected amount of magical creatures, thank you.
I would definitely recommend this fic for anyone looking for a story where the ABO is actually important to the story structure besides . The chapter ratings are very clearly stated so you can skip the explicit parts if you want. Always appreciate when an author makes clear what's going on for navigation purposes c:

I don't even go here with drarry, so to speak, and I LOVED this fic. This has creative worlbuilding of what's basically wizard MI6, expressive writing, and clearly delineated boundaries between the false and true identities of people who are extremely good at maintaining those boundaries. That makes it all the more interesting to read when those delineations are blurred. The plot is incredibly well paced, and the reader gets the really excellent experience of knowing information far before the characters know it, which is a difficult balance to strike for a writer.
Highly recommended story, even if you don't normally like this ship!

President Picquery, hoping to grant him some relief and a reprieve from the magical and political scene, sends him on a sabbatical of sorts, shipping him off to a small No-Maj town on the upper east coast.
There he finds neither relief nor a reprieve, but a young man with a dark past, a familiarity he cannot place, and a loneliness to rival his own.

What he does know is that slowly he's becoming more and more consumed with the need to be with Credence and Credence feels the same.

This has two things I really really like and almost never see: enthusiastically consensual GrindelGraves with no coercion in sight, and Percival being in the "subordinate" position of a relationship without it compromising his personal integrity or strong personality. Also cheers for safe BDSM. I like it when Gellert causes trouble but isn't actually a terrible person.
