It stopped Sydney in her tracks. Comically. Her mouth wide open and everything. She had to force herself to move, actively tell herself to take a picture of the sign so she could call—contemplate calling—later, and stop standing there eyes wide, staring at the sign.

Sydney had actually felt awful the whole week leading up to the friends and family soft launch. It had started as just some tiredness and a bit of weakness – nothing she couldn’t breeze past. And if today she was running a fever and popping Advil like it was candy, it was nobody's business.
Everything was fine. Until Carmy locked himself into the walk-in and she had felt the heat of her fever take over her entire brain, leaving her completely frozen. Unable to move. Unable to make a single decision. Unable to lead a team that had been looking to her for direction and counting on her.
