The girl in front of Shane squeals like it had been directed to her, but Shane knows Rozanov too well from the one time they'd played each other in the 17-and-unders. Or rather, Shane knows him as the chaser that kept Team Canada from winning the junior league last year.

"It seemed as though the entirety of the social life at Hogwarts had begun to revolve around the Triwizard Tournament. Boys and girls alike huddled in groups, glancing at exceptional seventh-years (and some lucky sixth-years) in the corridors, comparing intelligence levels and strength. It offhandedly reminded Shane of how his muggle friends would choose their avatars in video games, and he couldn’t tell whether he was meant to be offended or not.
He wasn’t quite sure if he was actually interested in competing, but he knew he didn’t have much choice in that. All of Ravenclaw rallied behind him, trumpeting his name to the rest of the school like a show pony. Shane had to admit that the support pleased him, and winning eternal glory didn’t seem like a bad deal."

Summary
The last year at Hogwarts is supposed to be the best one. It’s the last year of carefree youth before taking the N.E.W.T.s and starting the adult life. But the Dark Lord is rising and the world is becoming a dangerous place.
On top of that, at the beginning of the new school year, 7th year students start discovering unnatural abilities one after another without knowing what is going on and some hidden truth comes to surface. It brings them together and they realize that they can use the newly discovered abilities for good. Unfortunately they are brought to Voldemort’s radar and he becomes very interested in them.
