Summary
If he knows Mid — and he does, because the worst part of leaving her in the ring to be pummeled by Spoke is that he can't forget how she always had to tape her wrists just so and hated to change her bootlaces — she’ll be looking for someone else who’s just left a tag-team. He’s counting on it, actually.

Red comes in for the scoop-slam.
There is a dizzying moment: face above the canvas. Confronting the inevitable. Maybe this is what it feels like in the moments before death. Realizing you’re going to heaven or hell and there’s nothing you can do about it, not anymore, all the different choices that have already passed you by.

Summary
The funny thing about he and Vitalasy is how poorly they match up to each other. Maybe it just makes them a better team, but Subz has a sneaking suspicion that's not quite true. Vitalasy just never understands how he fights. It's fine; he barely understands how Vitalasy thinks in a fight either. He just understands that it works, the two of them, terrifyingly well.

We’ll get ‘em,” Ro says.
“Every dirtsheet I’ve read thinks otherwise,” Mapicc retorts. “I just gotta kill someone to get a win around here. It’s fine.”
“We,” Ro corrects. He fiddles with the laces on his ring boots for the hundredth time. “We gotta kill someone. Don’t worry about it. We’re gonna.”

Summary
You can’t hold the belt forever. That’s the point of the belt: someone is the best. It’s you until someone beats you.
And then you don’t have anything. Hard to have any friends but the belt when everyone wants what you have, what you aren’t willing to give up for health or love or pride.
So Rek has Parrot. Parrot and the belt. And one of them is on the line tonight.

Branzy should have expected sparring Clown wouldn’t be like sparring anyone else. But Clown had asked, and he does plenty of things for Clown because Clown asks. All of them, really.
Sparring should be nothing by comparison.

No one’s wings are clean on Lifesteal. It’s something Branzy had to adjust to, when he first joined — he’s never been vain about his wings, but he kept them clean and well-ordered enough.
Yeah. Not anymore.

“You should have told me you were coming,” Clown says, then, “Jeez, you’re messed up.”
Branzy leans against the wall. He glares for a few ticks, then his face screws up in pain again.

“I’d rather be hurt by you than anyone else,” Clown says quietly, and when Branzy gives him a look that straddles the line between fearful and appreciative, Clown just laughs and laughs.

Summary
“We need ways out of this,” Martyn snapped. “Now, my king. Thirty minutes ago.”
“I’m trying to think, dude!” Ren sounded just as panicked as Martyn felt. More, maybe, given the spots of rust that have started writhing like eels under his skin.

Dogwarts. A chill wind in the air, laced with the rotten smell of phantoms.
“I… need help,” Martyn says. The words itch as they leave his throat, almost as badly as the area between his shoulder blades. “My wings.”

Summary
“I don’t want to — to get all up in your space,” Ren says, although he’s a bad enough liar that Martyn doesn’t know why he’s trying to pretend. They spent a miniature eternity crowded into the same space at Dogwarts, and what felt like far too long staring at each other from across rival alliances. Martyn would be more concerned if Ren was well adjusted to them having the kind of distance they have now, visits every so often and only mostly-daily chat messages to tide them over.
Or: sometimes, Martyn and Ren aren't that good at actually talking to each other.
