Dunk thinks of Aerion, and how he'd been exiled here as a punishment for the Ashford Tourney. Somewhere in between those two thoughts, a voice in his head that sounds like Rafe hisses angrily about such a privilege.
How sad that the poor little Targaryen Prince got exiled to the Free Cities! Trading in his bejeweled cloaks, fancy armor and warm chambers for even more gold and jewels, bountiful feasts and pleasures of the most depraved kind— what horror!
Sympathy for a royal seems misplaced by a knight of his past, he knows that. Especially when he and Aerion shared such an antagonistic history. But, seeing the young prince be dragged quickly by the arm, legs struggling to keep up with the swarming man that was Ser Meryn, incited a pang of pity in his stomach that would not leave.
