No one ever visits this late.

“What about…” her gaze stops at the height of Ei’s chest, where she knows purple lightning can sprout in the blink of an eye, if the archon so wishes. “Musou Isshin?”
“Musou Isshin?” Ei repeats with a different intonation, confusion evident on her face. “What about it?”
“It has been years since I’ve seen it up close… since I taught you how to encapsulate your soul into it. Has it changed, somehow?”
Yae still remembers the weapon from when it was Makoto’s, when it was dull, still— from when it was meant to be a symbol of peace. And she remembers when it fell in Ei’s hands, too, which permanently sharpened its blade.
There is a pregnant pause, in which Ei rests a hand on her chest, brows furrowed.
Yae waits patiently, a skill she’s been forced to develop during the years by the archon herself.Finally, Ei decides to speak, though she only manages to amplify the kitsune’s curiosity.
“Why don’t you find out for yourself?”
