Lucy wasn't quite sure what brought her to Night City after escaping from a secret underground Arasaka facility. Night City is no place for a child, however, and when an EMT named Gloria Martinez takes an interest and brings her into her household, Lucy becomes more or less adopted by the Martinez family. With Gloria's son David quickly becoming her closest friend and surrogate brother.
As she grows, however, she will not only have to contend with the dangers of the city alongside family life, but also her changing feelings and emotions towards David as the Martinez household struggles to stay afloat in this cutthroat world...

The only thing going through his mind initially was if he'd been given bum information, if the job was a bust and he'd been screwed out of a payout.However, faced with an impossible fight ahead of him; a face off with Militech, MaxTac and - unbeknownst to him - the goddamn boogeyman of Night City, installing himself into this powered armor, this 'DaiOni', might just give him the edge he needs to emerge on the other side alive, assuming his mind is still in one piece by the end of it.

David grew up in a ruined world. It collapsed long ago when the shadow tyrants of the free world unleashed their greatest mistake, the Grimm, and had no defense when their creations turned on humanity. That's why his childhood home was a tent on the street, why he had nightmares about a boostergang shooting a dust round into his head, and why he was constantly bombarded by corporate advertisements from building-sized holographic displays.
But a small spark of hope is all one needs to change it. With interface plugs in his wrist, fantastical weapons in his grip, digital displays in his eyes, and a dream screaming in his brain, David knew what he wanted to be. He's going to take himself to the fatal Edge where only the toughest and coolest can go. Because he'll be a Huntsman.
The only problem was he needed to finish school first. Plus, he had to figure out why this pastel-haired girl kept giving him weird glances and why his heart thumped whenever she smiled.

One day, he finds himself with what appears to be a simple assignment; arranging the capture of a former Arasaka trainee, in hopes that the corporation can re-establish a rapport and open a path to bring back the trainee, a young woman known as 'Lucy', into the folds of the corporation once more.
However, as David delves deeper into the woman's past, he begins to question whether he was told the whole truth, and as his feelings for Lucy grow, he wonders if he hadn't made a terrible mistake in bringing Lucy back to Arasaka...
