Summary
“Maybe the fool has it right, then,” Levi says, voice thick and low. “Maybe the smart man just thinks too damn much.” His pupils are wide enough to fall into. He wets his lips, and Erwin watches him. “He either sacrifices the thing he wants, or he sacrifices himself. Maybe the only difference between them is what they’re willing to lose.”
In the end, the surrender is easy. All that’s left is to fall from the ledge.

Summary
“You really think that?” Zeke asks him, quietly. “Despite all the evidence of your own eyes. Despite Kenny’s testimony, despite the obvious parallels between your Captain and Mikasa’s faithfulness to their hosts, you choose to ignore it.”
“No one is born for anything, Zeke,” the Commander spits. “I’ve told you, time and time again. Levi was not born a slave anymore than you were born to be King, just because of your blood.”

Canon-divergent AU. Kenny survives and is convinced by Erwin to support the Survey Corps in Shiganshina. Everyone lives, including Zeke, who’s dragged back to the Walls kicking and screaming. Experiments and politics ensue.

Summary
Two months on from their meeting on the Orient Express, The World's Greatest Detective, Erwin Smith, and his companion Levi Ackerman arrive in New York City. Having travelled together for a few months, the two plan to visit The Maria, Nile Dok and Marie Stock's new cabaret club. When things take a turn for the worst, and a wealthy woman turns up dead on opening night, Erwin must put aside his plans to find her killer.
---
“This is going to be awful.” Levi says.
Erwin turns to face him with an incredulous smile. “It’s a club, Levi. It’s going to be busy.” He points out.
“I know.” Levi grits through his teeth. “Why did you bring me here?”
Erwin watches as Levi deposits his now empty glass on the bartop and waves away the bartender that offers him a refill. Erwin taps his fingernail against the rim of his own drink and listens to the clink of the glass right as the band begins to play.
“Because I like your company.” He answers simply.
