The sun was starting to rise further and reveal how pale and shaky Karamatsu looked, circles like bruises around his eyes and a sheen of cold sweat on his face. His eyes were still wide and searching, waiting for Osomatsu to make a wrong move so he could bolt and hide.
Osomatsu half-smiled and rubbed his wrist over the back of Karamatsu's neck. "What am I gonna do with you?" he mumbled.

Big means unsafe. Big means consequence. Big means the unknown, the unthinkable, that it was something they couldn’t control.

They thought the world of spirits was small. That the world of black, inky beings from the otherworld roaming around the living was something manageable. Something they could control.

“Hey, can I get some service around here?” Todomatsu calls out, slamming a hand on the bar counter, and he smirks, remembering the hell all six of them used to give Chibita when he wasn’t serving them fast enough. Karamatsu doesn’t even turn around.
