“Do you ever dream of the Wall?”
His father’s question catches him off guard, mostly because he does. He dreams of it often. At first, when he was a boy, the dreams came intermittently. There were months between those odd dreams, which felt more like being awake than asleep. Lately, he dreams of it every night. He can feel the biting cold in his sleep. He can hear the conversations around him. He hears screaming sometimes. He already knows what it looks like there. He has walked along the edge of the Wall a hundred times in his dreams. He has looked out at the lands beyond, covered in snow. He dreams of crows and wolves. He dreams of blue eyes and weirwood trees.
It’s what he couldn’t explain to Dany. He belongs there. He wouldn’t have these dreams if he didn’t.
