Summary
All of her memories fade away as she repeats the words in her mind. ‘It's you, It's me, It's us.’ She doesn't feel anything, doesn't remember anything about herself or what was happening but the blinding need to go back to Bly, walk, and fall asleep below the lake.
She doesn't move, just keeps staring at her own reflection. Her whole body feels afloat, and she can see herself staring down the overflowing bathtub as if she was trying to see the little bubbles in it.
It was then that Jamie would shake her out of her reverie, and then everything came crashing down at her once. The fear, the anxiety, the dreaded end of this temporary paradise she'd convince herself that was going to last forever. There was a twisted feeling in her stomach telling her that the clock was already at the eleventh hour and she doesn't have enough time left.
"One day at a time Poppins," she heard Jamie tell her as she took care of the distressed au pair, but she sounded very far away.
‘I don't have time, love.’ The sinking pit settles itself on Dani. ‘Oh god, Jamie. I'm scared about what might happen to us.’

What if Jamie woke up in time to save Dani from her stupid plan?

“Oh,” she breathes, chuckling lightly in relief and turning back to Jamie. “Is that–”
She cuts herself off at the sight of her girlfriend, pressed up into the corner of the hallway, arms wrapped around herself tight, gaze fixed firmly on the ground and away from Dani – and the cause of their issue.
“Right,” Dani says lightly. “Okay. No problem. I’ll fix this.”
Jamie ends up with quite a predicament when attempting to fetch her book. Dani helps her.

Don’t stop. Don’t turn around. Don’t reach out. Just hold your arms down at your sides and force yourself to one place where you know you’ll be safe – maybe a flat above a pub, maybe a manor in the countryside, maybe a greenhouse – then you stay there, and you keep your life small. Small as can be til your arms and your legs and all the other parts of you that feel too small fit right in.

A vice-like panic seizes him, propelling him into a frantic sprint down the hallway, each step reverberating against the metallic grating. Abandoning all sense of decorum, he crashes through Rose’s door, neglecting the courtesy of a knock. "Ro-" he begins, but her name dies on his lips as his brain struggles to process what his eyes are seeing.
Despite the dim illumination of a solitary flickering candle, his eyes are immediately drawn to her trembling figure sprawled on the bed. Fear grips icily at both hearts, the worry of a stress-induced seizure at the front of his mind. Yet, as he focuses his gaze, her hand's deliberate and rhythmic movement becomes unmistakable.
(In other words, a fic where the Doctor walks in on Rose wanking and sexy shenanigans ensue.)
