Several hours later, Jon walked into the breakroom to get some water before beginning yet another statement. Inside were Tim and Martin, having some quiet conversation over lunch. Well, it was as quiet as Tim’s conversations ever got, since their voices could still be heard from down the hall.
As Jon entered the room, time seemed to slow. Jon watched Martin and Tim look up at him, then Martin’s eyes widened in horror as he turned back to Tim. Tim’s face broke out into the widest grins Jon had seen since they’d begun working the archives, and he crooned “Martin’s got a boyfriend!”
Martin, to his credit, was not immediately set ablaze by the blush on his face. He stammered out that he did not have a boyfriend and it was just one dinner. -
