“We could grab a couple of pizzas,” Doc offered.
“If you get them from Domino’s, I will kill you. Friendship or no friendship,” Rust interjected boredly, finally looking up from its phone.
“Oh, so now you want to contribute to this conversation?” Tesla jabbed. “I thought you were ignoring our existence again.”
“Hey, I’m not ignoring you. Just making sure we get real food,” Rust smiled lazily. Tesla’s eyes narrowed.
“I mean, we like the local stuff better anyway, don’t we?” Zero piped up.
Tesla met their gaze. Kiss-ass, they mouthed.
Zero went red.
A calm night with the tombsonas at a run-down hotel is a perfect time to figure out feelings, don't you think?

Summary
Armstrong held its hand up, a signal known by the rest of the tombsonas to be an indication that it wanted their attention. None of them dared to ignore it, including Rust, who immediately paused, swiveling to meet Armstrong’s gaze.
“Yes?” Rust asked.
Armstrong raised a brow, gaze shifting to the living room. *Where are you going?* it signed.
“What? Where am I going?” Rust frowned. “I was going to the living room. Problem?”
Armstrong shook its head. It signed, *Have you eaten yet?*
Rust blinked. “Uh, no. I just got up.”
Armstrong’s expression hardened. It pointed to the chair next to it.
Rust didn’t move. “Uh, what–?”
Armstrong pointed again. *Sit.*
Or, Rust has a habit of forgetting to eat. Armstrong isn't happy.

“I can’t believe you wouldn’t have woken us up,” Tesla’s brow furrowed as it removed a broken light. “You had to drive back like that with all that blood, too.”
“Well, uh.”
Two faces blanked and swiveled to face Rust, who swallowed.
“...I walked the bike back.”
“RUST.”
Rust gets hurt, Tesla and Zero_one aren't impressed.teen and up for swearing, mentions of things like masochism

“What is ‘constellation’ meaning, question?” Rocky asks, pointing with a claw at the softly star-speckled ceiling.
Grace smiles warmly. “Patterns in the stars,” he answers with a faraway lilt to his voice. He leans back into the metallic floor and lets himself just look at them, lets his eyes skim across them in familiar rhythms. “You draw a line between two points, and if you string enough of ‘em together, it can look like a picture,” he explains. He points up at the first constellation he ever learned, traces the invisible lines between the stars. “We call this one the Big Dipper.”or
Grace has been dangerously stressed lately. A trip to the Mental Health Node is long overdue.

We sit there for a while. I don't know why Rocky hasn't left yet, or snapped at me again. He's so patient it drives me crazy sometimes. He's had a lot of practice with waiting, I guess, but I'm… not used to people making an effort to be patient with me, even before I decided to get a job working on the most time-crunch-y project imaginable.
(Or: Grace isn't doing well. Rocky's trying his best to fix it.)
