He’s moving before he’s even fully aware of what he’s doing. He frees himself of his seatbelt for better mobility, twisting in his seat so he can grab at Will.

In the wake of Vecna successfully opening all four of his gates, the Party is more determined than ever to destroy him before he can cause further harm, but there are more than just demogorgons posing as enemies in Hawkins.
The military has officially come to town, Eleven is still evading the law, Max is a test subject, Will has his own powers, Steve has a new and confusing thirst for blood, and Mike... well, Mike is trying to figure out what, exactly, it means to be "The Heart."
(Season 5 rewrite. Picks up right at the end of 4x09, immediately following El's fight with Vecna.)

“Uh,” a voice demands, out loud and not in his head, a figure in the doorway. “Who the fuck—”
Richie’s mouth runs before he can form a coherent thought. “I’m sorry,” he blurts. “I didn’t mean to just, like, enter your house, but I was just… I was—”
His words stop, hard and sudden, as the tone of voice becomes familiar to his ears. He knows who this is.
Fuck.
He could never not know who this is.
He’s so, so swept up in Eddie’s face he misses the baseball bat that comes flying at his head.

In 1989, Eddie Kaspbrak breaks his arm and disappears.
In the years leading up to 1993, Richie Tozier makes a wish, but the magical Kissing Bridge is not the only one who hears him. With help from a Turtle in the stream and a Darkness in the sewers, Eddie and Richie are reunited, but that doesn't mean it's going to be easy—for what is Wished must always come to pass.

Eddie lets go of his straw with an exaggerated pop, leans back, and asks, “Is this a fun summer pastime of yours? Stalking unsuspecting lifeguards?”
“Is this—fun summer—“ Richie chokes around the words, voice strangled, mangled, ruined. He clears his throat, trying to dislodge the frog in it, and slurps messily at his water, all but drenching his chin. He feels like he’s drowning now. “I don’t stalk lifeguards,” he says.
Eddie tilts his head, almost a challenge, and says, tone unreadable, “Really.”

It starts with several pink sticky notes.
Bev leaves one on Richie’s bedroom door, the fridge, on the carton of orange juice, and the mirror in their shared bathroom. It’s an archaic mode of communication, and she’s not even sure if he’ll see them—Richie has a habit of just not seeing things he doesn’t want to—but Richie’s phone is almost always dead or on Do Not Disturb and it’s the only way the message will get across.

My car’s in the shop AGAIN, ac’s out of fluid or smth. It’s going to be a bajillion degrees today, so please pick me up from work at 8. I’ll take you and Stan to the lifeguard party at the firehouse.
