It was not that she was jealous. There was nothing—absolutely nothing!—to be jealous of. After all, they only became friends a few months ago. Actually, they hardly knew each other at all. So what if they saved the world together, and were definitely going to be saving it together again in the coming months? What kind of friends were together 24/7? Even best friends wouldn’t spend every waking minute together. And they weren’t even close to best friends, so. Who cares?
Even so. It didn’t exactly fill Nancy with joy when her offers to spend time together were turned down. Three times in a row. And all because someone else had already asked Robin out.

As far as Eddie is concerned, Steve is making either a huge mistake or a huge deal out of nothing at all. In Eddie’s opinion—which Steve never asks for but is somehow always getting to hear regardless—Nancy either, “A. Is a catch who you used to be obsessed with and therefore have no reason to turn down. Or B. Isn’t even asking you out and just wants to talk about something. Maybe, I don’t know, the fucking almost-apocalypse we just faced together? Honestly, Steven, it amazes me how you’re able to make even something that huge about your romantic issues. Has she even broken up with what’s-his-name?”

“Jayce—” A pool of emotion in Viktor’s stomach—normally calm, placid—had begun to shake dangerously. Trepidation gripped him like a fist. He tried to walk closer again, white-knuckling his cane with the effort of not moving as fast as he was able towards Jayce, but again Jayce turned away. “Jayce, please, I just want to let things settle for a little while, I don’t want either of us to be alone, it’s just—”
“Whatever, Viktor.”
Or, Jayce and Viktor have a fight and then make up.

Logistically speaking, there are very few things that Luo Binghe wants that he doesn’t get. He acknowledges that in a lot of ways, it feels a little bit like fate is trying to make up for dealing him a bad hand in his young adulthood by throwing increasingly beautiful women at him, generally in compromising positions, often with their clothes strategically torn.
It’s not that he’s ungrateful for whichever god is looking out for him. He does wish they’d started looking a touch earlier, perhaps, but he’s aware that he’s fortunate now.
