such a masterpiece. the research, the wordbuilding, the universe... everything so intellectually thought out despite it being the usual 'abo' universe. sturdy taehyung hits home as he is someone so bound by duty and responsibilities that he forgets a piece of himself and a confident jeongguk as the one who loves to give and does not shy away from it, but all with proper consent. the sparks, the beauty all intact despite a grim background and story.... amazing!!

“I want to take care of—” Will mumbles, fumbling for gauze and bandages, his focus wavering. Mike notices the flush creeping up Will’s cheeks, bright and vivid against his otherwise pale, tired skin. And it warms something inside Mike, just a little, because Will wants to take care of him.

honestly, got into this one with no hopes but got pulled into this alternate universe where i could hate on the characters so easily... while i understand the societal pressures and the hierarchy taehyung is part of, his aggression scares me.. his need to always prove the other one wrong and the communications with the anonymous texter brings out a part of him that is so fucking raw and real, that it made me stare at the wall for a few seconds. and jeongguk??? i feel so clueless about him. right when i think i finally have caught hold of what he is thinking, it disappears from me a bit later. but the chase is exhilarating. everything about this truly is. you have created characters painfully exasperating, but that is exactly what i loved. i'm tired of seeing protagonists as the 'do-gooders', i love it messy and surreal... and i get that here. you have done a great work!

MY FIRST BYLER FIC??? AND IT BEING THIS GOOD???! peak characterizations, i could NEVER imagine mike and will in any other way; they are so synonymous with their original characters that it made the entire reading experience even more cinematic. will's struggle, the fear of losing when he feels like he had already lost a chunk, the ambiguity of the 'what ifs', the changes he had been forced to experience... but through it all mike somehow had his back, he had always been there with comforting words despite a few mishaps (exactly what makes this so fucking REAL).. this one getting the kind of love it got, i could never be happier, rooting for it to be the top1 in here. much love to the author, imma smooch your head and hand for this work.
