After the rejections, the heartbreaks, the misery, the miscommunication and misunderstandings, all of it, Crowley was not immune to the eternal pull of one idealistic angel and his hare-brained plans. It didn’t solve everything—there were infinite reasons they’d gotten into this mess in the first place—but hope reared its two-faced head and Crowley’s unresolvable longing to be beside Aziraphale at almost any cost won out.
Crowley looked at Aziraphale, desperate and beautiful Aziraphale, and said, “I’ll do it."

Aziraphale and Crowley devise a plan that certainly—possibly—maybe will stop the second coming.

Summary
In the immediate aftermath of the Nope-Let's-Notpocalypse, Crowley and Aziraphale tentatively begin to move on, hoping Heaven and Hell will leave them alone in the wake of both of their failed trials.
Of course, nothing could possibly be that simple.
It isn't that Gabriel or Beelzebub have actually figured out how the trials were subverted...but boy, do they THINK they have it figured out. Thankfully, it won't take much to keep them in the dark.
(Crowley and Aziraphale just have to spend eternity together, pretending to be in love with each other. All Crowley needs to do is make sure Aziraphale never finds out that everything he's saying and doing is true.)

Summary
Aziraphale felt the change in the air, a burst of power and a whiff of ozone. He spun, and jumped when he came face to face with Gabriel leering cheerfully over his right shoulder.
“Aziraphale!” he smiled as if greeting an old friend, then clapped his hands together loudly, so close it made Aziraphale flinch. “You’re early, so glad you could make it.” He began to walk around him, admiring the circle beneath his feet, careful not to cross it. It posed no real danger to him, it had already been activated, but crossing the bounds of an active circle was never a fun experience.
“Gabriel,” his voice wavered despite his best efforts. “What is the meaning of this?”

He’d barely even known Aziraphale then.
OR, Crowley pines, Aziraphale repents, the Second Coming comes and it all sorts itself out in the end.

The way that if Ryan is somewhere without Shane, he’s the first person people ask him about. The way that Ryan can’t remember the last time he’s gone out without Shane. He’s not sure that Shane’s noticed, though.

AKA: The slow build enemies to lovers to enemies to lovers fic that would have settled on lovers a lot sooner had someone not arrested these characters' development. Throw in a little murder mystery and you've got yourself the canon equivalent of a magicians AU. Also, did I mention they're in love? Because they're in love. That's probably the important bit right there.

Charles Xavier is a lead researcher with the Genetics Department who is well on his way to tenure. But what happens when Charles has to cancel a class because half his students abandon him in favour of a mysterious new English Lit professor? Naturally he ends up sitting in in the class, where Professor Lehnsherr mistakes him for a student. It's really too bad Erik has such a strict policy against dating students. It's also too bad Erik doesn't seem to know how to use Google.
