Summary
"This is total bull shit!" Andre screamed, kicking his metal wastebasket over. The crumbled papers inside rolled across his bedroom floor. Cal sat slightly on Andre's bed, his legs crossed and his face fixed in a neutral frown.
"They can't just—" Andre's brow furrowed, "They can't just send you away all summer! Cal, please tell me you've pushed back on this I mean— We had plans!"
When Cal's parents want to send him to a psych ward over the summer, Cal and Andre decide to sneak off on a road trip to California to avoid time apart.

Summary
"No, Andre, the thing is- the thing is I don't fucking get it." Cal bites back his anger, because for all he feels like his heart was crushed into a billion, trillion pieces by a merciless foot, he can't, won't afford to have Andre know his boot was the one to smear Cal's blood all over the pavement.
"What in the world don't you get?!" Andre, in turn, makes no effort to hide his irritation, and it makes Cal's stomach churn with rejection setting deep within his guts.
