“That’s alright – what do you need man?”
“It’s just – well, you know Schrödinger, right? The uh, the cat?” Ryan didn't miss the shy tilt that his voice had.
“Yeah, your stupidly chunky cat, what about her?”
“Hah! I'll give you chunky, but she is not stupid, that girl is going places. And uh, well, tonight she accidentally slipped out onto the backyard while it was raining, and got herself all muddy. And well, I can't – I can't really clean her up.” Dylan sounds embarrassed to admit this, and Ryan can only guess why.
“Ahh, I see, her hydrophobia is off the charts today.” He tries to lighten the mood the slightest bit, for Dylan's sake.
“You know it! She gets all fussy and annoying when it's bath time, which iss why I'm calling.”
“Calling me to… help wash your cat?”
Or, Ryan receives a late-night phone call from his crush, who has a very interesting favor to ask.

After that night, Ryan was left a hollow shell of who he once was. He had cut off his crush’s arm, kill his father figure, get stabbed, and then get dumped back into the world with nothing but trauma and a newfound hate of police.
Isolated and alone, he now has to navigate adulthood whilst being burdened by grief, legal troubles, and an unrelenting longing for a specific camp counselor.
