Summary
Gods don't feel guilt—but Viktor does.
With the glorious evolution complete and nothing left to salve the growing need for simulation, Viktor begins to battle with the Herald over dominance and autonomy of the body they reside in. While breaking down the layers of his metaphorical and literal shell, the horror of everything he's done finally sinks in—as does the realization that only he is to blame, and now, only he can fix it.
Alone in the aftermath of an apocalypse brought by his own hand, the mage born from the Herald's carapace is haunted by a thousand voices of remorse. He sets out on a journey of redemption, hoping against all odds to bring Jayce back and that he'll find some way to fix everything he's done—or at least, find a way to live with the consequences.

Summary
When Viktor falls into a coma, Jayce's life grinds to a stop.
He incrementally sacrifices everything, including his own health, to stay by his partner's side: wasting away his days reading children's storybooks to Viktor in attempts to rouse him. Others beg him to tend to reality and Hextech, but his focus becomes narrowly fixated on either finding a cure for Viktor; or at least, staying glued by his side to the bitter end.
As months bleed to years, Jayce's waking world blurs & bends into a living nightmare that blends with the elaborate, ethereal world he encounters in his dreams. Consumed by grief and desperation, can he find a way to save Viktor, all while balancing demanding dual lives; keeping up a facade of sanity in both; and searching for some elusive "treasure" that the aloof, mysterious King who haunts his sleep enlists Jayce's help to find? Can he convince everyone to give him a little more time to bring Viktor back; and could this "treasure" somehow lead him to a cure for Viktor?
Most importantly—can Jayce decipher where the line between reality and dreams lay?

Summary
Jayce laughs, leaning against the balcony beside Viktor. A little… closer than he's comfortable with, but then again, he shouldn't be uncomfortable with it. He's not sure why he is. Jayce has always been a little overly-friendly with him, and unlike other Piltovian's who do the same, it's never bothered him. So he tries to ignore the fact that for some reason, tonight, it does. Just a bit.
"You're insufferable."
"Is that why you brought me here? Does doubling up on suffering cancel it out or something?"
or; Jayce drags Viktor to a New Year's Eve gala. After being separated by the masses, they happen to reconvene on a balcony, and end up sharing a little bit more than just their resolutions for the next year.

Summary
Viktor had been planning this day all year, ever since overhearing Jayce's latest speech. It wasn't just the very public, pointed digs at Viktor—it was also the fact that the Academy judges had refused Zaunites entry to any further Distinguished Inventor Competitions last year. That was the final straw that led Viktor to contend on making his own statement. He'd never been one for dramatics; but, he was no longer the same man. He was no longer simply Viktor, but rather, the Machine Herald.
And the Machine Herald had one hell of a bone to pick with a certain Jayce Giopara.
Two years after the dissolution of their partnership and fueled by some rather pointed speeches that pour salt into his wounds, the Machine Herald plots to destroy the Defender of Tomorrow's special day.

Summary
It's only later, halfway through his way home, while replaying the events over and over in his mind and trying to understand the fluttery feeling in his chest or why he can't stop thinking about the little moles by the stranger's upper lip and eye, that Jayce realizes another faux pas on his part:
He'd forgotten to ask "Santa" for his actual fucking name.

somehow i did not bookmark this initially??? criminal. one of my favorite jayvik fanfics of ALLL TIMEEEE it is so soft so sweet so sexy soooo good. this fic set the bar so high for me with any jayvik fic. i just... i love them so much here, i searched through my entire history to find it again and share it with my friend and also to remedy my sin of not bookmarking it appropriately. i want to unhinge my jaw to eat this fic and swallow it whole. it hits all the right spots, and it's my favorite fluff i've read to date—not even just with jayvik just in general. ty weatheredlaw for all the joy and comfort this fic brought me; i was not in a great way when i found it initially and it revived something in me i didn't even realize had died. i wanna grow and smoke weed with them so bad... sobs.

Summary
