Senior prom is rapidly approaching. Tara and Simone feel bad that I'm the only one without a date, but I try to convince them not to worry--I'm happy to just help the prom committee and soak in the festive spirit. Besides, I have no shortage of friendships. There's my childhood friend Zayne, my locker neighbor Xavier, my art classmate Rafayel, and my (step) brother Caleb, of course. Even Sylus, the mysterious delinquent, seems to be warming up to me.

Content Warning: This fic opens with a particularly difficult chapter which goes into explorations of the captive/captor trope and incidents of almost-violence, incredibly visceral panic attacks and so much tension.
