God, he thought, was that really necessary?
He walked forward across the marble floor, every step echoing like it was mocking him for not knowing what to do with his hands. At the end of the long aisle, Queen Yumi Nakaya sat on an elevated seat of carved wood and silver, robed in deep purple, her posture graceful and severe all at once.
And beside her, lounging slightly in his ornate chair, was a familiar figure.
Blue hair.
Red eyes.
That unmistakable smirk.
Ken’s feet stopped.
No. Absolutely not.
The boy— no, the prince— grinned wider, eyes lighting up like a cat spotting a particularly slow bird.
“Good morning, Royal Tutor Hasegawa,” he said sweetly. “I trust you’re feeling better today? No sudden head injuries?”
Ken’s stomach dropped into his shoes. He barely managed to bow before blurting, “You’re the prince?!”
The room went dead silent.]
or, Prince Kamimura Kazutoshi has successfully eluded tutors for years. Hasegawa Ken is his newest victim.
Somehow, their partnership doesn’t immediately crash and burn.

[“…Hi,” Ken said, voice cracking. “Um. Sorry. I didn’t think anyone lived here?”
“You broke into a locked castle,” the stranger replied. His tone was dry, aristocratic, and deeply unimpressed. “Built a fire. Stole my fucking clothes.”
“I-I didn’t steal them! They were folded, I assumed it was like… communal! For emergencies!” Ken scrambled. “A-Also the door wasn’t l-locked, it was just… a little r-resistant.”
The man stepped forward, and Ken caught the glint of fangs as he spoke again.
“You saw the gate, the portraits, the lit candles, and your first instinct was ‘cozy abandoned AirBnB?”
Ken opened his mouth to retort, probably with something deeply intelligent and sarcastic, but his brain caught up with him. The red eyes. The fangs. The silent movement.
“…Oh no,” he whispered.
“Yeah,” the man said flatly.]
Botany Researcher Hasegawa Ken comes across the impossible. Chaos ensues.
(Or, five times Ken had his questions answered by the vampires holding him hostage, and one time he got more than he asked for.)

A long pause.
Then Kazutoshi sighed, sharp and annoyed, like he was mad at the cold itself. “Get over here. You’re gonna fucking die like that.”
Ken blinked into the dark. “What?”
“Don’t make me say that shit twice.”]

Unfortunately, when the worst disaster ever- traffic- makes Ken run over 15 minutes late, Kazutoshi is forced to wait outside their destination on a nearby bench, where a certain lady spots him. 2 seconds later and, much to Kamimura’s dismay, he’s on a full on conversation about his love life with a total stranger.
