    "As soon as she saw who the client was, her words died in her throat. Her drink slipped out of her hand a second later, but Catra couldn’t bring herself to care about the stain it would leave in the carpet.

    Across the table from her boss, wearing a perfectly-tailored suit that looked more expensive than most of Catra’s tuition payments, was Adora.

    As in, that Adora. The one Catra dated for all of college.

    The one that broke her heart four and a half weeks before graduation.

    The one that, according to what she’d said on the last day Catra had seen her, had fallen out of love with her."

    Or, six years ago, Adora and Catra were college students in love. Then, in one fateful meeting at a coffee shop, Adora broke Catra's heart.

    Now Catra's a junior partner at a law firm handling a patent dispute for Adora's family company. The two of them have to re-enter the other's life in an attempt for closure, catharsis, and connection.

    “Hey, maybe this is fate.” “If this is fate, it’s stuck in effing traffic.”

    Uncertain about anything in her future, Catra’s spending her nights driving a car that’s she doesn’t even own as a Uber Driver, of all terrible ways to pay the bills, but as the days progress, it gets harder and harder to keep herself together, to keep her head out of her terrible past.

    24 year old Adora was supposed to the be a hot shot, supposed to be destined for nothing but success, but now her life is beginning to spiral. She’s working a terrible temp job in Upper Bright Moon till midnight only to get up at five in the morning working a shift in a cafe so her best friend’s dream doesn’t go under.

    And then one night she finds herself as a passenger in Catra’s car.

    Leaning forward, Catra pressed a kiss to Adora’s tense brow, thinking teasingly about how she never rested, even while sleeping.

    At best, Catra was expecting a fairytale wake up, where Adora would arise and pepper her lovingly with kisses as a response.

    At worst, she was expecting no response. Which wasn’t bad at all, seeing as she’d get more time to admire her girlfriend.

    What Catra was not expecting, was to be suddenly hit with a waving arm.
