Summary
A comedy mask reduced to smithereens met its seemingly imminent fate, soon accompanied by rhythmic clacks of tears falling to the ground with it, like a melody, one he composed especially for her; a present wrapped in a neat bow cut from the very ribbons she was made of. He didn’t believe her to be deserving of receiving a ‘prize’ that wouldn’t take from her as well. An inherently altruistic act turned selfish in typical Jax fashion.
It’s quite ironic on his part, really.
Perhaps even hypocritical.
Breaking another’s mask, while proving its fragility, wouldn’t ever prove his to be unbreakable.
Dehumanizing everyone around him wouldn’t make the bastard feel any less disgustingly human.
Or: Jax and Gangle are more similar than meets the eye.

Summary
This is the most alive Jax has ever felt. Well, maybe not ever, but for a long time.
Or: During a laid-back adventure which left him alone with Pomni, Jax encounters his biggest fear: feelings. Romantic ones, at that. Having nowhere to run, he has no choice but to face them, all while resisting the urge to deflect and save face, just as he’d done countless times before, all while dealing with his racing thoughts and fearing where they might lead.

Summary
When he found her, or rather, she found him, he’d felt it had been entirely based on chance. A stroke of luck, a blessing from the skies above, at a time when Jax didn’t feel he deserved such a thing. Had he ever?
Or: The classic nightmare trope with lots of fluff and hurt/comfort. Also very self-indulgent :D

Summary
"Does that happen often? Struggling to know how people feel?" Frank asked.
Mel looked like she might cry. "I'm not stupid…" she whispered.
"Of course you're not," Frank kept his voice soft and low. "Let me ask you a question. Do you think autistic people are stupid?"
Mel looked horrified. "No! That would be an awful thing to think!"
"Exactly. So why is it stupid if you struggle with working out people's emotions?"-
Or, Frank helps Mel with the complexities of adult autism diagnoses.

Summary
Sometimes, on the rare nights they spend in bed together, Pomni will sit up by her side, and watch her sleep.
Usually she situates herself lower down the bed, like she wants to be small. She'll throw her arm over Pomni's waist and tuck the scarred side of her face against her side, right above her hip. She'll always start out sleeping restlessly, but her face will even out in dreaming.
Pomni will often reach out, to cup the back of her head with her hand, run her fingers through her hair, and stare at her peaceful, unguarded expression — and she'll think, selfishly, just to herself, I wish I knew your name.
(or: jax coming back from abstraction doesn't automatically fix everything. pomni struggles to reckon with it.)

I can't even put into words how much I enjoyed this from beginning to end. gosh, how I wish I could give this more kudos. the prose is MWAH I love it and characterization is double (and in bold) MWAH (it takes a lot to make me use bold, I generally don't like it, but it simply needed to be done

Bookmarker's Notes
this is exactly my cup of tea...very fnaf coded to me for some reason? probably because Kinger reminds me of Edwin in a way but that might be just me, either way this is very well-written and unique, beautifully tragic
deserves way more attention!!
