Victoire wasn’t sure if she should begin to release her own hair around Letitia. It seemed inappropriate. But, maybe it was just around men and employers that she shouldn’t wear her hair loose, and Letitia was her peer. Well, on paper. Victoire wasn’t so stupid that she’d treat this white girl like her equal only five minutes after meeting.
Still, slowly, Victoire removed her own pins.
