Summary
While researching a case the police had dumped on him, Mr Sherlock Holmes found himself sighing. Not necessarily because of another reminder that the police force are all idiots, even though that’s a part of it. No, the main reason is one of the reddit threads he found. The people in it are discussing whether you can be reborn after you die. If you thought you knew Holmes, you would probably scoff at this and make some kind of snarky remark about the improbability of it all. Possibly to get in his good graces, or maybe to make fun of him. But he knows something most people don’t. He knows that it is very possible to be reborn, as he himself has been waiting a long time to meet the person he loved in that life.

The world changes, then changes again when the four boys divorce from each other's lives.
Thinking optimistically, at least Kyle no longer had to hang out with Cartman. But he would sacrifice his sanity and dive headfirst into the old days if it meant getting one more day with Stan.
He would never let himself admit that in the light of day. But sometimes it seems the only way to get there is procrastinating life, getting in drunken fights, yelling at therapy trees and fisting (in a totally not gay way).

This was the only thing that didn’t make sense even knowing the full truth, and apparently Stan had to think before answering as well. He bit his lower lip and looked down at the floor, then back at Kyle.
“Because I loved you,” he finally said.
Three years. It had been that long since Kyle and Stan last saw each other, and now a single Christmas dinner would be their undoing.
