    Jason is so scared of the Joker that he can’t breathe when he thinks about him, can barely even stand, so he takes his former moniker of Red Hood and wears his face until his heart stops pounding.

    Guns remind him of his father, make him so sad and angry that he wants to die, so he carries those too. Explosions terrify him, so he plays with bombs, plants one in his helmet right where it will kill him if he goes off.

    Horrifyingly unhealthy coping mechanisms from Jason here. Buddy, have you considered not triggering yourself all the time? I think it would be good for you if you stopped intentionally poking at your own PTSD.

    “You were pregnant.”

    13 years ago those words had broken Natasha’s heart and numbed it to ice. 13 years ago Madame told Natasha they’d killed the child in her womb during her graduation ceremony. 13 years ago Dreykov forced Natasha to watch as the Winter Soldier was wiped of all memory of her.

    She’d had cause to curse the Red Room a thousand times over but even she hadn't seen this coming. She'd never imagined Madame lied. She hadn’t considered Dreykov would want to keep the Winter Soldier’s child.

    When Steve asked her to look for Bucky, she didn’t expect to find him. She wasn't prepared to find a 10 year old with red hair, green eyes, and her James's features.

    She thought she’d lost her child forever, before she even had her, but it was all a lie. Now suddenly she’s mother to a traumatised 10 year old girl more familiar with guns than hugs. Her child has spent 3 years frozen in cryogenic storage and the other 10 training as a Widow.

    And Natasha would go to the ends of the earth and fight any monster to protect her daughter but even she might not be up to the task of protecting her baby girl. Because the Red Room is still out there, and Dreykov will stop at nothing.

    Easily one of the best WinterWidow fics I've ever read. The ending is fitting and the action is phenomenal. The characterization is top tier and each twist kept me on the edge of my seat.

    She was frozen in indecision.

    She considered bolting for the door, right then. No explanation offered. Her just... gone. She deliberated it.

    Nat realized then that he had backed away and turned his back to her. He stood there, busying himself with some small thing, and waiting. Her no-goodbye option had occurred to him too.

    Not only had it occurred to him, he was offering it.

    She deliberated.

    Thawing out is a process, for everyone involved. Natasha and Bucky finally face the cold together.

    This story takes place about six months after the events of Captain America: Civil War.

    Dick Grayson and his foster brothers have fallen through the cracks. Living with a parent only interested in the checks, Dick’s taken on the responsibility of making sure his little family stays fed and together, no matter what.
    But when the sun goes down, he dawns the domino mask of Robin. While Batman plays hero with the city's kingpins, he helps the little guy.

    Bruce Wayne’s newest philanthropy project is focused on children's services. But handing over check after check doesn’t seem to give him the feeling that he’s doing anything.
    At least there's Batman. But it’s lonely work, living by the moonlight.
    At least it is until he meets Robin.
    The vigilante is like a breath of fresh air. Eager, friendly, and surprisingly good company, even for a patented loner.
    As their interactions on the street grow, Bruce’s walls begin to crumble. But once he starts asking questions, he can’t stop, and he can’t take personal stake in the affairs of Batman.

    Easily one of my favorite Bat fics. Dick and Bruce's messy relationship is sooooo well written <3 I also absolutely love Jason's part of the story, and the tensions between the three brothers (Damian is also present but seeing as he's a baby he's not exactly beefing with the others like the rest) are so so so compelling
