Andrew’s posture doesn’t change. “I remain until instructed otherwise.”
“You mean until the king instructs you."
The knight doesn’t answer immediately. Then, without changing his tone: “Correct.”(Or, Neil is forced back into the life he tried to escape—the life of a prince—and Andrew is the knight sworn to “protect” him.)

Summary
Andrew always said whatever this was between them was nothing, so really Neil shouldn't be so-- surprised, by what he walked in on. Andrew and Roland. Neil always knew this was nothing and that's perfectly fine. He's fine.

Andrew is self-destructive and fucks up. Neil spirals (but refuses to admit it). They are horrible at communicating.
I hate the cheating trope but this isn't technically cheating because they never talked about what they are... lots of angst
