Summary
Set 18 months or so post canon, and on the assumption that Starecross Hall has become something of a base of operations for our heroes, who have all become friends, of sorts.
Shameless silliness in which a moment of mischief from Miss Wintertowne precipitates a battle of will and trickery with Mr Childermass.

Summary
Mid-February 2017 is, give or take, the 200th anniversary of Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell leaving England in the darkness, and the snow last week inspired me to write this. Anniversaries are always a kicker for those left behind, and the first year is always the hardest.
Mr Norrell's disappearance finally catches up with Childermass, and he finds empathy in from an unexpected source.

Summary
Before Childermass was Childermass, he spent some time as a sailor; this is a story from then.
Black Johnny saves a girl from a shipwreck, and has to get them home to safety when they're washed up on a lonely North Yorkshire beach. To complicate matters, she does not speak English, and he does not speak her language. This may be the longest ten miles he's ever walked...
Featuring: Swashbuckling! Romance! Tragic Pasts (tm)! Magic! And a fearsome hedgehog...
(and, because there have been Concerns, an OFC who is not a self-insert and is a reasonably normal human being. no striking eyes or mysterious powers at all. we'll leave those for Childermass...)

With his long hair, as ragged as rain and black as thunder... by wolfinthethorns

Summary
There was a post on Tumblr about 19th Century hair-care, and how it involved an awful lot of brushing. This then got me thinking about Childermass and his long hair, and how having your hair brushed can be a very intimate thing
because I don't have a kink, and how it fitted with my headcanons about him having massive attachment and trust issues regarding intimacy. And then this happened: five scenes from childhood to shortly after the magical restoration, in which John Childermass has his hair groomed. -

Summary
A little vignette playing with headcanon about when and why Childermass had come to be a sailor.
Content warning for period appropriate casual racism (the character’s voices do not reflect the author’s, I am well aware that the g-word used to describe Romany people is a slur nowadays)

Summary
After 200 years of being hungry, Astarion finally has an opportunity to try all of the delicacies Faerûn has to offer. It’ll require some forgiven social blunders, occasional accidental poisoning, and a research-oriented dietician who is up for the challenge of helping one severely traumatized Vampire Spawn learn how to trust himself and others. Maybe he’ll find a favorite food along the way.

…I find the world oddly quiet without the bickering of Lae’zel and Shadowheart. I often think I see Karlach or Wyll dancing at the edges of my vision but my eyes never find them. Every time someone asks a question I find myself pausing, expecting Gale to answer. And I still look up, searching for your eyes…Bookmarked by wolfinthethorns

Summary
"By the gods, I missed you," Asterion whispers. His face is pressed against Halsin's chest, the words nearly inaudible. He pulls back a little, tips his face up, and says more clearly, "You have no idea how many rivers there are between here and Baldur's Gate. Someone ought to dam them all up."

Years after they parted in Baldur's Gate, Halsin finds an unexpected visitor in the woods.
