Ochako looks away.
In the end, Izuku will always choose Bakugo – and that’s fine. Ochako and Tenya are fine.

“Wait,” says Laios suddenly. “Look at her teeth!”
“Yes, Laios,” says Izutsumi. “We’ve all noticed the fangs. This really isn’t the time—”
“No,” says Laios, “those back teeth. She has molars- grinders. That means she’s an omnivore. But she can’t leave this circle, and you saw how nothing ventures within miles of this spot. I bet she hasn’t had anything other than…” he swallows, waving a hand vaguely at the pile of ex-adventurers, “...meat… for years .”
“So…what?” asks Izutsumi.
“Remember how good those marshmallows were?” asks Laios. “And that was only after a couple days without much of a varied diet.”
“You want to bet all of our lives,” Chilchuck says slowly, “on making a Sphinx a nice dessert?”

did this fic somewhat redeem endeavor in my eyes? yes.
hawks is such a pathetic character. in a good way, i mean. all puffed up with pride, acting like he's above it all - but what happens when the very wings he used to secure his freedom with are ripped away?
this was a fic about redemption. about healing. about learning to take down your walls, one brick at a time, and watching as golden afternoon light comes flooding in through the holes. hawks' pain was an ever constant reminder in the background, and the fic was only made better for it. if i could unravel this fic, weave it into silk, and turn it to a thick winter blanket, i would.
also the sex scenes are rlly hot so yeah
