When Minho went to buy groceries, he saw Jisung’s face on the cover of a magazine at checkout. Hands shaking, he picked it up. It was their newest issue. Jisung’s face was smooth, flawless. He looked perfect. He looked like a stranger. Minho was filled with the sudden urge to cry. He didn’t.
If Minho had to describe Jisung in one page, nothing in the magazine would’ve made the cut. Jisung was a force of nature. He was the storm and the sun after rain. He was stubborn and wonderful and kind. Minho loved him still and knew at that moment that he always would — in silence, in loneliness, through phone and TV screens.

“Han Jisung-ssi?” Minho greets him, polite and so pretty, and damn, even his voice is beautiful.
“Yeah, hey, nice to meet you,” Jisung says as he shoots up from his seat, his knee bumping into the table in the process and making the cup on it shake in response. Jisung winces as his cheeks heat up in embarrassment, and it really doesn’t help that Minho huffs a small laugh while he watches the whole thing unfold.
Great.
Not even a minute in and he’s already made a fool of himself.
“No need to be nervous, I won’t bite,” Minho mutters with a mischievous glint in his eyes, “Unless you ask me to.”
Jisung snorts, thankful for the alpha’s attempt to calm his nerves. He decides to play along, “Is that part of the contract or do I need to pay extra?”
Minho tilts his head as his lips stretch into a grin, “For a cute guy like you, it’s free of charge.”
Or, in which Jisung hires a fake boyfriend who might end up not being so fake after all.

Summary
Fear tastes acidic on his tongue, the tingling feeling in the back of his head leaving him walking back home almost robotically, his head stuck in a haze only for his attention to snap like a twig upon hearing any sound around him, frantically turning left and right in search of a sign of danger that doesn’t come.
It serves as a painful reminder, that Jisung has been careless, reckless and now he’s let danger come too close to home. A reminder that he should do more to protect the people he loves the most, to keep them safe from the threats of being associated with Spiderman.

"Oh, yeah," Jisung almost chokes on a chuckle, but Felix doesn't open his eyes, forehead resting on clasped hands. "I can see the blood staining the streets of Seoul already."
"I wish to fuck ten, no. One hundred men at least."
"Jesus Christ."

Reaching out, Minho lets his fingertips skim down Jisung’s side. It’s in these small, fleeting moments that Minho feels his heart clench— realising all over again just how much he loves him. He would burn the world down for Jisung, an easy fleeting thing.
"Knock it off, hyung," Jisung snaps, but there’s no real bite to his words. Minho smiles, shifting to wrap a loose arm around his waist from behind, his chin resting comfortably over Jisung’s shoulder. When Jisung’s arm folds over his, Minho feels the quiet certainty settle deep within him— nothing will ever come between them. They are halves of the same soul, as Theodopy once described, tied together by the invisible red string of Chinese legend, the embodiment of every soulmate trajectory he’s ever heard.
Jisung is his, as much as he is Jisung’s.

It’s almost a relief, really, to know that he isn’t alone in this, but that expanse of uncertainty still yawns wide in front of them. What are they to each other once he admits this? “Of course I have been,” he says, soft. “Every second of every fucking day.”
