Summary
Mike, Lucas, Dustin, and Will are forced to spend the summer at a Mr. Murray Bauman’s house (bunker more like). Mike would say it was because god hates him, but really, their parents had schemed with Joyce to get the kids out of the house this summer. Mr. Bauman also owed Joyce a favor.
During an incredibly competitive game of hide and seek, Dustin discovers an ancient looking wardrobe, distinctly different from any of the modern furniture in Mr. Bauman’s hole of a home. Inside the wardrobe, is something Dustin has never seen before. It’s like a real-life D&D campaign in there. Now he just has to convince the rest of the party to venture into the unknown with him.

“C’mon, you can room with me,” Will said, and Mike blinked at him in surprise. “That way you can have the whole trip to relax, completely free of face-sucking, how does that sound?”
“Oh, that’s way better,” Mike said gratefully, knocking their elbows together, “And you don’t snore, unlike some people.” He shot Dustin a glance, earning himself a raised eyebrow in response.
“I’m not sure I’d count on that arrangement guaranteeing a ‘trip free of face-sucking’, but we’ll see,” Dustin said airily, nudging El, who grinned wolfishly at him. Max let out a snort, and Lucas bit his lip to keep from laughing. Will had the feeling he'd been left out of an inside joke.
