loving times

Summary:

The five times that Kirishima and Bakugou show they love each other indefinitely.

Work Text:

Sharing hobbies with him.

They just wanted a way to spend time together outside of studying. That what Kirishima kept telling himself it was supposed to be. Just a TV show and a little popcorn. Kirishima rested a sweaty palm onto his pant leg.

“You nervous or something?”

Kirishima snapped his head to where Bakugou sat on the couch, lounging back, arms across the back and legs kicked up on the table.

“Come over here.” He says it with such disinterest that Kirishima can’t tell if he is playing or not. Yet the blush on his face reaches the tip of his ears and he smiles.

“Okay!” He presses himself into the curve of Bakugou’s side. Which might he add, perfect and warm and amazing. Bakugou simply growls before starting the movie. The lights in the room going dark, Kirishima pulled the blanket close. Slipping his fingers under the fabric and wrapping them in Bakugou’s. He smiled upon feeling his sweaty palm on his.

Bakugou may be able to act but nothing can hide sweaty palms. Kirishima giggles and Bakugou shifts underneath him.

The music to the movie plays and Kirishima is leaning closer than ever before.

Saying he is yours.

You’d think that “Bakugou is my boyfriend.” is a simple enough sentence. Just a few jumbles of words, the perfect perfection of letters and they make Kirishima blush himself to death. Bakugou has found ways to avoid it, with that constant aura of grace he has. Shouting ‘he is mine!’ or ‘to back off!’ was his wonderful way of expressing his love for Kirishima. And Kiri loved it. But just the pure words of utterance from his own mouth and it was over.

He was the most unmanly man in the world. Who couldn’t say their boyfriend was their boyfriend? Kirishima pulled his fingers to hook onto the edge of his shirt. Anxiously rubbing at the factory he can just barely hear the yelling.

“Leave me alone!” It's very distinctly Bakugou, he can hear the faint explosions.

In the distance, he can see someone pulling themselves closer and closer to Bakugou, a lovestruck look in their eyes. Kirishima can feel the anger boiling inside him.

“I said leave me alone!” Kirishima can barely hear what they're saying but he knows that Bakugou doesn’t look comfortable. He can’t stop his feet when he starts to run.

“Hey, leave my boyfriend alone!”

It's so quick that for a second Kirishima doesn’t realize that it’s left his mouth. If Bakugou wasn’t there he’d probably fall to the floor a red mess but he stands his ground in front of him.

“Get out of here.” And surprisingly they do.

Bakugou sets a soft hand on his shoulder, Kirishima can already hear him yelling.

“Look I-”

Bakugou’s lips are soft and welcoming on his. Pulling him closer and making him feel warm inside. Is this his way of finally acknowledging he said it?

If this was the prize he’d say it over and over.

He lets a part of him slip that he hasn’t before.

The air is the room is stale and sharp equipped with the easy silence. Kirishima finds himself leaning into Bakugou’s arms more and more. The beeps from his DS lights up the space between them.

Its the easiest night they’ve both had in a while, no school, no homework or villains. There is no worry that floods the dorm rooms. With a faint look toward Bakugou Kirishima can tell there is no worry or anger in his face, no folding o his skin to show the negative emotions. He flips to the next page of his book, nuzzling back into Kirishima’s side. His smile is wide and devilish, despite the atmosphere. Kirishima doesn’t realize why it is until he smells it.

He shoots up from his resting position, glaring at Bakugou. It smells brazen and foul, filling the air but it can’t be from Bakugou, can it?

“Did you just-”

Bakugou’s smile grew, his shiny canines peeking out from underneath his lips. He didn’t even need to say the words but Kirishima knew.

“Did you just fucking fart?” He can feel the betrayal rise in his throat, the only remnants of hope gone when Bakugou finally lets out a villainous laugh. Kirishima distances himself from the vulgar smell.

“You are just terrible!” He tries to say it with a straight face but near the end, he can feel himself break into laughter. But then Bakugou gets closer, arms wide and tries to pull him close and Kirishima can’t stop himself from screaming, “No! Stop! Your gonna bring the smell over here!”

Bakugou doesn’t and Kirishima doesn’t stop screaming.

Seeing him in the new home together.

The floorboards quietly creek under the small patter of his feet, dust rising off of them in every kick. Bakugou couldn’t stop complaining about this place when they first bought it. Even though it was the only place that was in their price range. Just starting out as side-kicks wasn’t exactly bringing in the bills.

Another floorboard squeaked under his foot, he can hear Bakugou’s disgruntled growl. Kirishima couldn’t help but giggle at the muttering of curse words under his breath.

“Why did we have to buy this garbage dump anyway?” Bakugou questioned, stuffing his hands into his pants.

Kirishima scoffed, “You know why. At least we already got the bed in, otherwise, we’d have to sleep on this floor.”

Kirishima knows they are very lucky that the movers did that one singular thing while they worked overtime as sidekicks, he knows they’d be far too tired to put it all together.

The door to their bedroom opens with an eery squeak and then Kirishima is smiling.

The bed fits so good in the room. It isn’t too small or big, it settles in the middle just so. Kirishima couldn’t wait to lay on that bed, blowing kisses at Bakugou from across the room.

It’s trashy but it’s the good trashy and Kirishima can see themselves living in it and loving it.

When he gets down on one knee.

Kirishima almost thinks that Bakugou is hurt when he bends down, one knee on the floor. That maybe he overworked himself during work and now he is paying the price. The worry is filling him before he can even see Bakugou digging into his pocket.

“Katsu-”

“Shut up.”

Kirishima is confused until he sees the soft velvet of the red box in Bakugou’s coarse palms, fingers anxiously running over the soft fabric. He can see the anxiety in Bakugou’s face, he wants to push forward and press his fingers into those lines, pressing the anxiety out of them. He can’t bring himself to move.

“You’ve been everything for me since we’ve left UA. You were there for me in my hardest times, you were there for me when I didn’t think I needed you. You and only you were there for me. You were the one that taught me that it was okay to be vulnerable, to show that I’m not always strong. That there was manliness is that.” They both can’t help but laugh at that one. Kirishima can already feel the sob rising in his throat, Bakugou looks just as ready. “I love you so much I can’t find the words sometimes. You take my words away from me. I may act like I hate you for that but I love you. I love how you make me feel and how you make me smile. You are so perfect sometimes that I don’t think I deserve you.” He shifts on his knee, opening the box.

The ring is one of the manliest things that Kirishima has ever seen. Perfect in every way.

“I want to deserve you. I want to show you how much good I can do. So please, will you marry me?”

Kirishima can’t stop the tears racing down his cheeks, lips pulled into a wobbly smile, “You deserve so much bakugou. You’ve shown me how amazing you can be. Every day when you are out there saving lives you are showing me why I love you. Your the best thing that can ever happen to me.”

He drops to one knee himself, pulling out the black leather box containing the carefully picked ring. One that can withstand Bakugou’s explosions, of course. He hears Bakugou gasp.

“But I was supposed to ask you first.”

Bakugou presses his lips so quickly into Kirishima’s, he can hardly breathe. It doesn’t matter though because Bakugou is stealing the air left in his lungs. He can feel the soft tears wetting his collar, as he does to Bakugou’s.

“You idiot, all you had to do was say yes.”

Kirishima has shared many first with Bakugou. Shared many incomparable moments that hold so many bright and loving times. But to know that they will be able to do that forever. To be able to share first after first. To be able to share these sweet and tender loving times with him.

That’s all he ever wanted.
