Work Text:
Life is a series of machines breaking;
Gas burns, oil runs out, and failure results.
But my faith is never ever shaking
In the future we will have as adults.
It scares me, my love, to grow and age.
Life is a game that I can hardly stand,
But it is simply another new stage
That we shall ascend upon hand in hand.
Our machine is a thing of true beauty-
Our life and love intrinsic'ly entwined
In ways that are thrilling and new to me.
It is the best blueprint ever designed.
All that matters is the fit of our gears,
Not that my words will not outlive Shakespeare's.
