Work Text:

“Marry me!”

“JoJo?!”

In Jotaro’s defense, Kakyoin Noriaki is illegally hot.

Both literally and figuratively.

After years serving the military, one would think he’d be at least wary of secret agents from an independent secret organization, specially secret agents trained to deal with aliens of all things, yet here he is, throwing the red haired guy shameless smitten looks, practically drooling at each movement the lean body did, the way the small waist twisted, the firm grip long fingers had on the guns.

Doesn’t help that Kakyoin himself is a tease and clearly putting on a show for the soldier.

“JoJo, it’s not the time! And since when you’re gay?!” Polnareff, a fellow soldier, shrieks from where he fights some weird dog-like creature that looked like it had been mangled enough for the insides to become outside flesh.

“Bi, actually!” Jotaro yells back, just to spite his friend.

“I’m happy that you came out and all, but some help?!”

Jotaro smiles, punching away the disgusting beast trying to bite his arm off and shooting it. It feels good. He has always been more of a fists guy anyways, and since the aliens that can melt skin on contact had already been dealt with—by the gorgeous redhead no less—, he allows himself to enjoy the situation at least a bit.

With one swift motion, he puts his fist through the dog-like abomination’s soft stomach, wincing a bit at the feel of its insides on his fingers. Nothing some water can’t solve, though, so he lets the beast drop without much thought.

“I hate when you do that,” Polnareff huffs, “No finesse in you, is there?”

“I thought it was pretty hot.”

The duo look behind them only to see their newest acquaintance reload his own weapons. His eyes, a stunning shade of lavender, never leaving them while his hands moves. There’s blood and dirt and guts clinging to his greens pants and his white tank top. Sweat rolls down his face, making his bangs cling to his skin. His large mouth is pulled in an amused smile, as if watching two friend bicker during a game night instead of an alien invasion.

Kakyoin had been there before them, fighting alone to try to save as many people as possible, and their introduction had been interesting to say the least: both pointing their guns at each other, only to miss the shot when they noticed the other wasn’t an alien. The aliens had not waited to attack Earth, basically coming in guns blazing, and the armies of the various countries had taken some time to get to action. Not too much, but enough for it to be a bit of a problem. It’d be a bigger problem, really, but apparently the conspirators should take more credit, as a whole ass secret organization founded with the sole purpose of  dealing with aliens reacted much faster, almost as if waiting for it.

Maybe they were. Jotaro isn’t going to ask.

“This should be the first wave, probably to see what they’ll be dealing with,” Kakyoin explains without prompt, hands still working on his weapons, “They technically sent their dogs to sniff us out.”

“So what? I’m guessing your super secret organization has some plan?” Polnareff provokes more than asks, receiving a sharp smirk from the redhead.

It’s definitely unwise to taunt someone who could handle a battle so well, and Jotaro surely isn’t going to save the frenchman’s ass. Thankfully, Kakyoin seems to be thirsting for alien blood right now, as he readies himself and puts his weapons back in their holders.

“Yeah. We’re divided in two teams: one, the largest, is to stay on Earth and save as many people as possible; the other is going to cut the weed by the root.”

“You don’t mean—!” Polnareff points to the giant spaceship floating in a mockingly peaceful way in the sky.

“Oh, yeah, those fuckers are going down.” Kakyoin’s smirk turns predatory and Jotaro is hit again with the overwhelming need to kiss the living daylights out of him, “So lets make things easier for them, yes?”

He turns to leave and Jotaro really can’t let him. Just like that. No way in Hell. He doesn’t care that Polnareff is already looking at him like he grew another head, or that the frenchman will most definitely tell Joseph all about it.

“Marry me.”

He does feel like he could have said something different, though.

Kakyoin stops to throw a look at him over his shoulder, amused smile back in place, an eyebrow arched.

“Take me to a date after this is over and I might say yes.”

As he saunters away from the duo and the rapidly rotting away bodies of dead aliens, Jotaro starts planning their date, ignoring his friend’s whines of “how come you end up with a boyfriend in the middle of the apocalypse?”
