A dull, droning hum resounded throughout the quiet house, pulling bleary green eyes open. A few blinks, a deep breath and a yawn had the gaze drifting towards the thick curtains of the window. Faint light seeped in from around the edges and a scarred hand pushed them aside slightly.
A gloomy sky and raindrops pattering on the window greeted Midoriya. He squinted against the contrast of the dark room and the world outside, eyes fluttering as he let the curtain fall back in its place, his arm flopping down against the bed.
He sighed, drawing the blankets up close to his cheek as he snuggled in deeper. The rain outside lulled him back into a drowsy state as the warm body beside him shifted. An arm fell across his waist and he smiled as a nose pushed against the curls, humming pleasantly.
“Kacchan, it’s rainy today.” He murmured softly.
“Go back to sleep.” Bakugou’s grumble was muffled in his hair. He smiled sweetly, warmth blooming in his chest as the blond’s arm tightened around him.
Quiet settled across them and Midoriya could feel himself drifting off again, listening to the rhythmic tapping of the rain on the glass, pouring down upon the outside world as he was cuddled up safe in a warm bed.
A high, soft meow broke the silence and Bakugou huffed, warm breath ghosting across Midoriya’s neck. He smiled fondly, but kept his eyes closed. Another mewl, and Bakugou grunted.
“Oh my fuck,” He sighed out with a gravelly tone, “Damn fucking cat, can’t get a single moment of peace.”
Midoriya turned his head with a giggle, peeking over his shoulder as their fluffy white cat stood atop Bakugou’s ribs, her blue and gold eyes peering down at him. He cooed sweetly as Bakugou gave the feline a tired glare. Her little ears were marked by small black patches, along with her tail. Her pretty, heterochromic eyes blinked at her human, pale pink nose twitching. As a Turkish Van, a beautiful cat breed, Midoriya had been helpless against that expression at the shelter.
“Nana-Chan,” He sang out gleefully, and her eyes turned to him. She mewled again and stepped up Bakugou’s body carefully. Her paws smushed Bakugou’s cheek as she stepped on his face.
“Oi, you damn furball--” Bakugou snapped as Midoriya giggled. The kitty let her tail swish as she wandered up to the pillows. Midoriya raised a hand to her and she rubbed against his fingers happily, a light purr starting up in her throat.
“Good morning sweetie,” Midoriya beamed at the cat nuzzling his hand.
“Morning.” Bakugou grumbled against his neck, legs shifting to tangle with his own. Midoriya giggled and scratched Nana-Chan behind her ears and under her chin. Her tail flopped onto Bakugou’s face.
“Oh my fucking--” Bakugou moved his arm, poking the puffy black tail. It flicked away instantly, brushing along the pillows and against the messy blond locks as she beeped a little sound, annoyed with someone touching her tail.
Midoriya rolled to face Bakugou with eyes full of amusement and love. Red eyes opened halfway as Midoriya’s fingers brushed along his chest. Bakugou's face was unusually soft as he watched Midoriya, who leaned in to give him a soft kiss.
Bakugou’s other arm slipped around him, cradling him close as Midoriya sighed happily, grinning as Bakugou’s nose bumped softly with his own.
“Stop bein’ cute.” Bakugou murmured, leaning in to capture his lips again.
“I’m always cute,” Midoriya whispered back, his cheeks warm as his heart swooned.
“Well stop it.” Bakugou hummed, fingers slipping under Midoriya’s shirt. Warm hands skimmed his waist, drifting languidly, no destination in mind; simply touching.
Midoriya’s fingers brushed Bakugou’s cheek, a contented noise spilling past his lips as he relaxed against strong fingers sliding up his back. His legs squeezed around one of Bakugou’s, trapping it between them.
“Never.” He replied, a cheeky smile on his lips. Bakugou huffed, turning to press his lips to Midoriya’s palm. Midoriya stretched his fingers, blushing as he watched crimson eyes open slowly, a certain look glinting in his irises.
Nana-Chan’s paw came down on Bakugou’s temple as she meowed, demanding attention and apparently taking Midoriya’s open hand as an invite for cuddles. Midoriya laughed as she rubbed her face on his fingers again, standing on Bakugou’s face. The blond growled, but didn’t move her as Midoriya chuckled at the sight.
“Why did we get a fucking cat.” He sighed out. Midoriya hummed, pulling his hand away as he shifted onto his back, patting his chest to draw her over to him.
“You love her.” He reminded the other as Nana-Chan purred, stepping over Bakugou to get to Midoriya’s chest.
“No.” Bakugou said, lying through his teeth. “She’s a brat. A complete and utter brat.” He said, but his scarlet gaze was gentle as he watched her curl up under Midoriya’s chin. “She only loves you.”
“That’s not true.” Midoriya laughed softly, stroking his hand along her fluffy back as she tucked her paws under herself. Her purr vibrated lightly through his chest and his heart was completely full of the love he had for his feline and husband. “She loves to be around you.”
True enough, whenever Bakugou was home, she was there. In the kitchen at his feet when he cooked, at the back of the couch near his head as he worked on his computer, and at the door, screaming at him whenever he came home and was taking his boots off.
“All she does is yell.” He grumbled, pushing his face into Midoriya’s shoulder.
“She’s declaring her love!” Midoriya defended, combing his fingers through plush fur.
“And she has no goddamn manners, either. Always jumping on the counter and stepping on my face when she knows she’s not supposed to. Little shit.” He uttered out, voice low but devoid of any malice.
“She’s precious! Don’t say such things about my sweet Nana-Chan.” Midoriya whined, “Come on, how can you resist such lil’ baby toe beans? Such gentle lil' pawfeets?” His voice shifted to a babying tone as he babbled to the Turkish Van. His fingers gently touched her small paws and he squealed, his heart bursting at the cuteness.
“She’s just so spoiled by you that she screams when she doesn’t get what she wants.” Bakugou muttered, turning to look at the white feline. “A fucking nuisance is what she is.”
Midoriya let out a dramatic gasp, turning to look at Bakugou with faux shock on his face.
“Kacchan!” He scolded playfully. “I do not spoil her, and she is not a nuisance. ” He smiled, turning to the cat and cooing to her, “Nana-Chan, don’t listen to him, you’re not a brat. You’re beautiful and you deserve all of our love.” He assured her. Her eyes were closed as she purred, ears flicking. “I bought you some really nice goodies last night, when we get up I’ll make you a nice breakfast and get you some warm milk, okay baby?” He declared.
“Oh, right, and you don’t fucking spoil her.” Bakugou rolled his eyes, but his fingers reached out to gently push against her snowy fur.
She let out a small ‘mrrrp?’ that had Midoriya cooing at her some more, her big, multi-colored eyes peeking open to gaze at her other human. Bakugou curled his fingers around her ear and she leaned into the touch, eyes closing pleasantly.
“Aw, Kacchan, you softie,” He teased, his cheeks aching from smiling so much.
“Only for you two.” He murmured, red eyes meeting Midoriya’s own jade-colored irises. He only beamed brighter as he tilted his head to lean against Bakugou’s forehead.
“I love you so much, Kacchan,” He whispered, rubbing his cheek against Bakugou affectionately. A small huff of a laugh came from Bakugou, a rare and genuine smile on his lips as he gazed up at his husband.
“Love you too, Izuku.” Bakugou rumbled, tilting his head and pressing a loving kiss to his lips. Midoriya felt he could cry with how powerful those words were. Midoriya brought his free hand up and Bakugou met him half-way, lacing their fingers together and giving his hand a comforting squeeze.
They laid there, cuddled together, with Nana-Chan slumbering atop Midoriya’s chest. With the murmur of the rain, the warmth of each other and the peaceful air of the morning, it was easy for them both to drift off again.
